The stage is just about set for the taping of BET’s 9th Annual Celebration of Gospel, to be held on Wednesday, December 10th at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. The show will once again be hosted by comedian Steve Harvey, and the musical director will once again be Ray Chew (if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it?).
Among those slated to perform are Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, Vickie Winans, Hezekiah Walker & LFC, Shirley Caesar, Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Smokie Norful, Dr. Bobby Jones, 21:03, LL Cool J, Lou Gossett Jr. and Heather Headley.
The show will air on Sunday, January 25th at 8pm ET… and frequently after that, I’m sure. Make sure you catch it… it’ll prolly be pretty good.

I can't wait! I love to watch a gospel event! That's all we used to have before we had the Gospel Music Channel. So, yeah, looking forward to it!
I agree. I've gotten a bit spoiled by the gospel channels, but BET was there when no one was.
I like how you bolded the Gospel names and not the mainstream artists names ... I hope BET truly celebrates the gospel and doesn't water it down by thinking secular and urban names are bigger draws than straight-up gospel artists. Really tho, will it not be a celebration with out Momma Pastor Shirley?
We would like for Fantasia and her Mom to perform. It's like Dr.Bobby Jones this is the real stuff!!!! If not her Mom then Fantasia. You did not mention her performane on your blog, well what's new!!! this young lady and her Mom are truly gifted by God and anointed. You all like the feel good music.
Anita: Thanks for visiting the site! You're right. Fantasia and her mother did an AMAZING job on Bobby Jones Gospel a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed them a lot! Fantasia was on a couple years ago, singing "Endow Me" with Coko, Kierra, and Lil' Mo. I agree... she's about due for a repeat appearance! Thanks for your comment! Keep visiting!
