Is It Just Me: Anthony Evans

Is it just me, or do you think Anthony Evans is a bit underappreciated in the gospel music community?

no, it's not just you. anthony evans is a killer background singer in gospel music and seems to be known for that. his solo projects, however, are perhaps not so celebrated because of their ccm-ness. because i have just a few ccm artists that i follow -- and i'm decreasingly abreast of industry goings-on -- i didnt even know he had a 2nd project out. dunno...

love the guy... but as Byron stated, his projects are CCM driven...especially the last one which is 90% CCM cover tunes. And honestly, i wasn't too impressed with either project. That doesn't take away from his vocal ability though. But he is very appreciated in the CCM world... and lives well from it.

The Bridge is actually his 3rd release. Letting Go is the project before it. Anthony and Kevin Levar's latest projects are two that are in constant rotation.. Byron is right though, because of the ccm-ness (lol!), they're kinda overlooked...

Yeah, I think I probably most appreciate him for his ccm-ness. It's really refreshing.

No, it's not just you EJ. THIS MAN IS BAD!!!!!! For years he's been loved, although quickly forgotten by his gospel family. CCM has him now - we may not get him back. Would yu want to come back? Side Bar: Anthony, just like his father, Pastor Anthony Evans (who's AMAZING!!!!) is very transparent, passionate and committed to the sharing of God in the most unadulterated and no-holds barred manner and less committed to entertaining folks.

YES! YES! YES! I couldn't get his single "Meaningless" out of my head for like 3 months!
