Goodies: Tarralyn Ramsey

THIS one.  She makes me so mad!  LOL

Tarralyn Ramsey’s debut album was released on Verity in 2000.  At just 20 years old, she was singing like noooooooobody’s business and I became an instant fan.

A few years later, she entered the VH1 “Born to Diva” competition and won the dern thing!  I never bought any of her secular stuff, though, cuz I… just didn’t want ‘em. :roll: I guess I didn’t want to hear her doing anything but gospel, cuz I thought she did it so well.

Anyway, my wife found this awesome YouTube clip of Tarralyn singing “Peace of God” (from the self-titled gospel album) on TBN in September of 2007, and I was reminded about how much I enjoyed her!

    I know yall gonna talk about me for this one, but I watched that show, and I thought she "over sang" and was super pitchy. That's my Simon Cowell for the day:-) With that being said, I loved her gospel project, and peace of God is a beautiful worship song. She can definitely blow, and you can definitely hear a Whitney influence. Just felt like she did every possible trick she could on that one song.

    @luda: Dang! Such a downer. LOL Nah, I'm just playin'. I hear what you're saying. Maybe she was trying to step back into the gospel game and she thought she had to give the people all of that. Or maybe she just oversang. :-(

    I saw that show that night. It seemed as if she was trying to hard to prove something. She can blow now, dont get me wrong; I have that cd as well. But I'm just saying.

    Wow! What a voice! Would love for her to do a "live" gospel recording. Her first project was good. Yea, she did a lot on this clip but you can't deny her abilities. Wonder what Juanita was thinking? lol
