Goodies: "Uphold Me"

“Uphold Me” is one of my MANY favorite songs from The Winans.  It’s just one of those classic cuts, but… aren’t they all???

This particular video is from a Gospel Heritage conference a few years back.  Rance Allen was singing it, then Donnie McClurkin took the reprise.  He proceeded to pass the mic to Marvin Winans, then to Marvin Sapp to Kelly Price to Ted Wynn and, finally… Karen Clark-Sheard.  GREAT stuff!

Whatd’ya think?

Well that sure was a fantastic group of singers. Karen Clark-Sheard always blows my mind! I love to hear her sing. They done an excellent job.

ok, i'm making myself stop on the 4.5 watch. watched karen 4 times alone. i'd like to hear rance do a record without those brothers. something in a live setting. not a syntesizer in sight.... only blues banjo's, organs and choirs where everybody is wearing freeze curls and ek's. CHURCH!

...okay i snuck back over. they gave karen extra special piano work on her part. musicians and singers working together is so important, but whoever that was gave her extra love.
