Word Has It: Pastor Marvin Winans & Perfecting Church To Record

Word has it that Pastor Marvin Winans & The Perfected Praise Choir are prepping for a live recording on March 29, 2009 at their Detroit, MI church.  GospelFlava.com reports that special guests include CeCe Winans, Bishop Paul S. Morton and Rodrick Dixon.

I’m glad about it!  I think folks reeaaaally slept on their last album, Friends.  It featured writing and guest vocals from the late, INCREDIBLY great Kayla Parker.  It also featured a KILLER reprise of with Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Karen Clark-Sheard.

I bet this new album will be good, too, especially cuz I’m an undercover church choir fanatic (ok, maybe not so “undercover”).

Oh yes! I can't wait for this project. I still rock the first project! The late Kayla rocked "Now Are We". And I don't think there is anyone on this green earth that can rock "Jesus Saves" the way Marvin Winans rocked it! I would love to know who will be heading the production on this project.

Sorry EJ, it's not a typical choir project, it's a praise & worship project. It still should be really nice though.

Marvin Winan's live recording was phenomenal! The anointing and a fresh presentation of his music was spectaclular! I call Marvin the "Quincy Jones" of gospel music. When he expressed to the audience how the Lord humbled him after being rewarded with 2 grammy's the spirit said "I didn't call you to win grammy's I called you to win SOULS!" The church went up! Donnie McClurkin, Don Moen, Mary Mary, Bishop Paul Morton, Marvin Sapp, Roderick Dixon and Ms Echols and others did a superb job! I can't wait for this release!
