Well well WELL! Israel Houghton’s newest release, The Power Of One, has debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums AND Top Christian Albums charts.
I’d like to think that all the press, reviews and giveaways at GospelPundit.com had a lil’ something to do with it, but the reality is that his album is, hands-down, one of his greatest to date and it was BOUND to do what it did.
PEOPLE. If you don’t have it yet, you are missing out (TERRIBLY) on some really great music. He takes musical risks that return double and he never sacrifices his message while he does it. I LOVE that. (Sidebar: I have been JAMMING HARD to “Saved By Grace”… it may be one of my anthems this year.)

This is a great album. My fav is Saved By Grace too, it has alittle "Prince" vibe to it. He's not sounding like Prince, just the music. Track# 2 catches your attention also.

YES!!!!! I was praying that this project would be #1 on Billboard! This project is all that & then some! I praise God for the blessing of being one of the winners of the giveaway for the cd. Aside from the giveaway cd, I've also purchased two copies! I truly enjoy the ministry of Israel Houghton, & also of New Breed (can't wait to hear their new project coming out this year!!!!). People, I'm telling you...you MUST purchase this project! I told a friend of mine last week that in my opinion with this project, Israel, Aaron Lindsey, & Tommy Sims & New Breed have set a standard on how Gospel/CCM projects should be done. Lyrically, Musically, & Production wise, they are the STANDARD on how to put together a project from start to finish! There is not a weak song on here! Everything is solid! Man! I could go on & on about this project, but I won't! LOL!!!! Just go get it & be blessed by it! Also, when you purchase this cd, check to see if it's the exclusive one. The exclusive one allows you to have the access to exclusive behid the scenes on how the songs came about, & also an exclusive acoustic live set of some of the songs! It is FIRE!!!!!! I can't wait to get home to listen & watch it again tonight!
Yo, This CD is so great vocally, lyrically, and production wise, it sounds like a project that took time... and Praise God... The Album sort of reminds me of how I felt when I heard India Arie's new project, which I thought was phenomenal on every end as well.. and Saved By Grace is bananas I was listening to the album with one of my friends we were both trippin off of that song... We are both glad it doesn't have that New Breed Sound... We needed something fresh and he gave it to us...
