She’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Coko has debuted her latest single, “Wait,” which will be featured on her sophomore gospel album, due this summer on Light Records.
I LOVE the track. Coko is one of those singers that can kinda do EVERY style of gospel– from the urban (after all, SWV helped to define the sound of modern R&B) straight to the churchy (cuz she can kill a vamp like NOBODY’S business with her soaring soprano). This track is closer to the latter, as she ad libs all over, up and through the vamp’s refrain. Encouraging and powerful!
It’s already on its way to radio, but y’all can head over to her website, http://www.cokosplace.com to listen to it RIGHT NOW!
Just make sure y’all bring your hindpots back here and lemme know what you think after you’ve heard it!

I love Coko's new single. Thanks for the heads-up!
@Aaron Cooke: no doubt! welcome and thanks for commenting. :-)
I like it a lot!!
I like the single! Thanks for sharing EJ! I can't wait to hear the rest of the project!
GREAT song, I like Coko. I believe she on the right track for gospel with her own style. I think her album was the best from the crossover artists last year. EJ, you are on it.
@Alaina, DCov, and Tyrone: Glad y'all like it!
Yep...it works! She is the one crossover artist that I think will last in the gospel genre! I'm waitin for Fantasia to fully return!
@lmgo: you are RIGHT! She's a great example of an R&B-turned-gospel artist who has done really well in both markets. And, I agree: Fantasia could do it. Plus, I think Kelly Price has it in her too, so I'm not gonna count her out yet!
Is there a release date yet? This will be a MUST buy on Tuesday. I think this project is better than the 1st.
Oh yea EJ...i forgot about Kelly....she's got it..but i need a new project from her to really prove it!
Please don't count Kelly out, she needs better song writers and producer. Dave Hollister either.
