From Twinkie playin’ that organ, to each of the Clark Sisters killin’ on the vocals, this is a classic recording with the FAMU Gospel Choir… “Nothing To Lose”:
Elbernita -- along with Thomas Whitfield -- was ABSOLUTELY instrumental in bringing more direct Jazz and Blues presence into Gospel music. The gatekeepers didn't realize it because all the arpeggio's happened on a B-3 organ. Her work was amazing. But the Sisters together is incredible too... I love how they LISTEN to each other and submit to the sound of the GROUP. Where is this now-a-days?
they juss have a 'connection' unparalled!!! lol at twinkie 'playing' Karen's part and she picked it right up!!! I luv these women. Their spontaneity keeps their songs fresh/exciting. You NEVER know what they are going to do, with the SAME song!!!! luv da CLARK SISTERS!!!! **of course Twinkie IS the Clark Sisters!!!**
