So, we’re dominating late night TV these days?! Aight, then… I see you, ladies!
Last night, The Clark Sisters performed their latest hit, “Higher Ground,” with Robert Randolph (from that Oh Happy Day compilation album) on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
The vocal-band mix could’ve been better for me, especially cuz I could barely hear Karen clobbering the “HIGHER!” part, but clobber it, she did! All in all, the vocals were crazy– the harmonies were tight, the riffs were thoughtfully placed. Plus, they looked great. Getting even BETTER with age, much?!
By the way, I don’t know who’s working this album, but I haven’t seen ANY of the other artists on this compilation getting as much mainstream attention as The Clark Sisters. Lemme find out…
Oh, and is it just me, or is Twinkie in better voice than we’ve heard her in a minute? Gettin’ excited for that new album!
Who else saw it? What did you think???

I checked it out. I enjoyed it myself. They rocked it. I'll have to agree with you on the vocal/band mix. The mics were quite low. You could hear Twinkie more than you could the others. I'm going to have to pick up that cd.
Major props to the Clark Sisters for that JESUS mention! I wish more artists blessed with a secular platform would use it to represent.
Nobody can give a growl like Twinkie! They betta go ahead!!!
Those Divas were awesome as always!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh i sure hope they get to do something with Oprah because in my opinion "Oprah needs the Clark sisters"!! she just don't know it yet lol!
I was in the second row at the taping over on that side. The sound was great but would like to see it again. I am blocked from here on the Leno site and Hulu though because I am in Canada. Anybody know where else I can see it?
I loves Twinkie.....she's looking better than ever.........Twink was gone for sum years i think she back now
Yes the Clarks rocked it hard!!! I was there yelling my head off the NBC pager had to come over and tell me to be quiet two times. While they were singing Jay Leno was off to the side tapping his foot he was really into them. After the show the Clarks took pics with Jay and talked to him a while then went over to Kevin and the band and took pics with them and off they went back stage. I am sooo happy for them. So far they have been on the Arsenio Hall show, Joan Rivers, Seven Hundred Club,Soul Train Awards,Grammys(two times),TBN(many times) The View, and now the Jay Leno Show. They just need to be on Oprah next. GO ClARK SISTERS!!!!
