Interesting.
Word has it that Kirk Franklin is taking a bit of a recording hiatus.
In an article for GospelMusicChannel.com, gospel industry giant Lisa Collins reports his words: ”I kind of think people are a little tired of me right now… Maybe God will speak an album through me in 2010.”
In the meantime, he’ll keep busy with the following:
1. A book, entitled The Blueprint, which provides “a transparent approach to talking about issues…from a 2009 Christian moderate with swag.” I think I wanna read that.
2. Shooting a TV pilot. I’m sure I’ll wanna watch that.
3. His music featured in The Healing, a ballet by the Alvin Ailey Dance Troupe based on his works. DAAAAAAG… that’ll be kinda hot.

I feel the hiatus will be good for the brotha. When he gets ready to do another one, he'll spit out something fresha and dangerous. EX: his rebirth album was HOT! and that came after he took a lil break.
I think that's a great decision to take a "PAUSE". I am ready for all the stuff Kirk is about to bring, I am a true supporter because he keeps it real. Can't wait....
Four words: "The Family Reunion Project" Now that would be nice! Maybe a break will get him back on track to delivering the hits. See ya in 2011 Kirk!
Are "The Family" still mad at Kirk? Or did all that stuff get settled? Other than David & Tamala Mann, I don't remember who else was in it!

Cosign on the live project! I miss The Family SO much! Dalon Collins and that other girl that sang on all the songs. lol I appreciate when artists give us TIME to appreciate their absences and returns....it's hard to miss you if you don't go anywhere! THAT said...I'm really looking forward to all of his projects.
Didnt Dalon Collins put out a solo project? Has any one heard it?
I think his hiatus will make us all anticipate his return even more. I mean we're talking about the man that brought us Silver & Gold, Conquerors, Why we sing, and lest we forget the 90's anthem--Stomp....this brother just brings it! Whatever he feels will help him tap in to that talent I'm all about it. I don't care if he comes back with the Family, another NU Nation, GP or strictly solo. And what's this TV pilot all about???
