In The News: The Whispers' Album Due In October

The Whispers - ThankfulThe debut gospel album from legendary R&B/soul group, The Whispers, is set to be released on October 20th.

The 10-track project, entitled Thankful, was produced by the group and Fred Hammond. The single, “Thou Art With Me,” is being described as “Gospel meets Quiet Storm”.
 Hmmm… at first glance, that sounds like a musical accident waiting to happen, BUT… I love The Whispers so much, and Fred Hammond is so phenomenal anyway, I’ve gotta believe it’s gonna be kinda hot.

And so, yes… VERY much so looking forward to it.

How about you???

I expect nothing but excellence from the Whispers because that's who they are and hooking up with Fred is pure genius. Remember those beautiful harmonies of Commissioned that blew everyone away, well The Whispers have been giving us beautiful harmonies a whole lot of years way before Commissioned. I can't wait to hear this project as I love the both of them. Novi

I am a long time Whispers fan and their 1st Gospel CD is off the hook! I know how they felt when they sang "I Only Meant To Wet My Feet" they got all the way in the water on this one! This CD is going to be "Contagious" and I know these brothers are "Thankful". When I listen to the lyrics of the "Walk With Me" and "Praise His Holy Name" I know that with our Lord Jesus it's a Love Thang and I am also thankful. Keep up the good work Whispers and get the much needed message out!

How can anyone be a longtime Whispers fan and say they follow Jesus. How do I know this? Because I USED to be a Whispers fan...dj in the clubs, played them alot. Now I know better. Really check out their lyrics on their other cd's....are they glorifying to Jesus? NO!!!! They have one foot in the world and one foot in the church....they are unstable in all their ways..Jesus says this,I did not. Anyone can sing Gospel music, but not everyone FOLLOWS Jesus...If they do not repent and turn from this world, Jesus will not care if they put out a Gospel cd..He will say to them, you workers of inequity, I never knew you.

You know what,EVERYONE has their own cross to bear.I,for one do not know of ANYONE who has a monopoly on morality. All of you who have judged the Whispers because they put out a gospel, let him that be without sin cast the first stone. How do you know that it was not put on their hearts to put out a gospel album given some of their past and present circumstances.Don't be so self righteous because you got a message from JESUS and you feel like they didn't get one too.You can quote all the scriptures you know, but discernment and understand is in the heart of the one that receive it from GOD.

TR, Jesus has a monopoly on morality...His Word never changes. Jesus says ,Be Holy as I am Holy. If you call yourself a Christian,be in this world, not of this world. It has nothing to do with someone quoting all the scriptures they know...it is about the Absolute Truth of the scriptures. We must decrease, JESUS must increase. Whether you buy and listen to the Gospel cd is up to each individual. But, for a Christian to say that they have been a Whispers fan for a long time and still are...they better check their walk. As I said earlier, when I was part of the world, I was a Whispers fan because they sang about premarital sex being okay...sexuality,eros love, being okay...and I ate that stuff up. But, WHAT DOES JESUS SAY. Christians means followers of Christ. I had a renewal of the mind once Jesus chose me to serve Him and I said yes. If you have said yes to Jesus, it is time to renew your mind. As for the members of the Whispers, Jesus says, You will know them by their fruit.

I believe the whispers are a pretty good group even though I have just now heard of them from the tbn network, I like them its like a mixture of jazz and slow R&B but in reverence to GOD!!!

Every time the Whispers come to New York my husband and I go to see them at the Beacon Theatre and as expected they get better each year. Then when we heard about a gospel CD coming out by them all I could say wasm "If it's anything like what we've experienced over the last few decades from them with their R & B the CD is going to be off the chain". And believe me it was!!! When you hear it for yourself you'll know it's the Whispers, but it's all about Jesus.
