Ya Heard?: "God In Me" Remix w/ Ne-Yo

Can’t determine whether it’s an official track or not, but this remix of Mary Mary’s hit single, “God In Me,” features Ne-Yo and has been EVERYWHERE on the web since its release.  Take a listen and lemme know what you think.

don't like it...too much crossing ova instead of bringing the cross ova!!!

  • Chad wrote on September 5, 2009

Some of ya'll are just hatin because this version is pretty decent, I am not even a neyo fan and it's not the best version of the song but overall it's not bad

  • Anonymous wrote on September 5, 2009

@Chad That word "hatin" is so overused. Why can't people just state that they don't like something without being called a hater?? Geez. You like it and I respect that. We're all different. But it really is WHACK though. LOL!

You know this obviously isn't the best version of this song but at least Ne-Yo tried to be apart of this ministry to show all his fans (both secular and gospel) that God gets the glory for all of his success. Instead of bashing his attempt to be apart of this message, we as God's people should encourage him and welcome him with open arms. I understand if you don't like it, but just be mindful that he AT LEAST recognized that God gets all the credit. Come on yall we can do better.

ONCE AGAIN!!!! The continuation of NO GROWTH in gospel. I loooove Tina and Erica, but, why is it that you gospel artists feel the need to do remixes with ESTABLISHED NON GOSPEL artists instead of BRINGING UP those IN GOSPEL to increase their notoriety. Case in point, this Neyo joint coulda had that same vibe with MARVIN WINANS JR. He by the way can sing circles around Neyo. [No offense to Neyo...at least he CAN sing]. Imagine what a boost it woulda done for Marvin.

It's nothing special really. It's okay though. I understand that Mary Mary are fishing for men right now. Different bait is needed for the catching of different fish. There is dying world out there and if it takes a Mary Mary remix with Ne-Yo to get the job done then I say go 'head Tina and Erica! It you don't use different bait, you'll continue to catch the same fish. It's apparent that The Campbells are doing what Jesus commissioned us as Christians to do...GOING to ALL the WORLD. The realization has to set in that Jesus never told us to go into all the church. Church folk gone be church folk--meaning they are going to judge Mary Mary no matter what...it's what church folk do. So I say, you bettah go head Erica and Tina. I see what you all are doing, and I applaud your efforts even in the midst of judgmental new aged Pharisees and Saducees. I think Jamie Foxx would have been a better choice, only because he can SANG AND he SO desperately needs Jesus. Ministry between takes is VERY necessary for him. HOLLA!!!!

Hmmm... let's see. WWJD? Probably NOT collaborate with Neyo, but nice try Kenya. These arguments for compromising are hilarious.

@ Jonathan You make a good point about bringing up others in the industry. I always felt that way about some of these tours. You notice it's always major players sticking with each other.

  • rashad wrote on September 7, 2009

A major compromise just to have a celeb on the song.

  • Estyle wrote on September 8, 2009

I so agree with Jonathan. They could have done this with a new up and coming gospel artist. When a gospel artist collaborate with the world for whatever reason--is it an endorsement of the world or of the church? I think those who are straddling the fence become even more confused. I know someone said they prefer the version with Queen Latifah, but that is just as bad. Are you reaching the world or are you catering to the world? Are you winning them or are they winning you? "God in Me"'s message has always been unclear. With religions out there teaching that man is a god, this song can be used against the TRUE and LIVING GOD. Are you talking about GOD or are you saying that you are a god? To the some that can be a confusing message. And then to collaborate with the world--more confusion.

This is really nothing special, I thought that I was really going to hear A Good re mix, I cant even hear or understand what Ne Yo is saying. Some Songs are just not to be REMIXED! God In Me, should have stayed original with Mary Mary- God In Me is my favorite song doe, from Mary Mary Album!

  • Criticalthinkin wrote on September 8, 2009

I like the message! However, if you'll don't agree with them or their message pray for them!! lets stop talking about our fellow brothers and sisters and pray for them! God is love so let's start showing each other some! I love you'll!

  • ray wrote on September 8, 2009

This actually wasnt all that bad..I read all the comments before I viewed the video...and although I see where everybody is coming from, until you are in their shoes, you dont know what the Lord is speakin to them in how to go about doin the ministry that he has called those young ladies to do...I'll admit, I used to be a BIG time skeptic of collabs of this magnitude at one time, but I had to come to grips with the fact that God uses people differently...how HE does what HE does is not up to us..whether we agree with it or not..He's goin 2 get His job done...so if an unbeliever sees/hears Neyo singing this song with MaryMary and starts thinking about his/her own life, then a seed has been planted which hopefully will lead to salvation and thats what its all about..BUMP our negative opinions cuz it wont change a thing!! Peace and much love 2 yall!!

  • Chad wrote on September 8, 2009

@ray very much agreed, Amen sir!

  • ne ne wrote on September 8, 2009

R YOU SERIOUS RAY...wow!! this song does not glorify God in anyway, form but maybe in fashion cuz that 's wht they are talkin bout in this song!!!

Hi Estyle. You are on point and I will go ahead and add...GOD IN ME by MARY MARY FT. KIERRA, NE-YO, or MALICE (CLIPSE) IS NOT GOSPEL! Where, in the entire song, do we hear the message of Jesus Christ. NO WHERE! Then they went and got their friends to be in their ridiculous video. Kanye West believes he is the "god" in himself and so does Common because he is a 5 percenter. Amber Rose (Kanye's girlfriend/puppet) is bisexual and has posed/been seen nearly naked, but they made room for her in their video too. If the world can grin it up in pics with you, be in your vids, feel totally comfortable in sin when around you- YOU ARE THE WORLD! But back to Estyle, if you wanna know what the song means/is really saying, check this vid on youtube: The Most Damning Evidence...Mary Mary_God In Me Exposed 1 of 2. In this youtube vid by Ringo4Life, Erica Campbell (Mary Mary) tells everyone, out of her own mouth, what the real message is in the song. I will forwarn you...it's TOTALLY ANTI-CHRIST! Truth:Jesus:Love

  • Wan.R wrote on September 8, 2009

Oh I forgot one...GOD IN ME by MARY MARY FT. QUEEN LATIFAH IS NOT GOSPEL EITHER!

  • Tyrone H wrote on September 8, 2009

Let me ask this question Are we listening to the lyrics or just the beats? I can be honest with you, most people like the song because of the beat and not the lyrics or because it has the word "God" in the song, People like me are only hooked to the beats! Am I wrong?

  • Estyle wrote on September 8, 2009

@WanR Thanks for the YouTube tip. That was an eye-opener that every gospel fan should see. Keep spreading the GOSPEL--Jesus Christ must be proclaimed! @Tyrone H You are so right about just listening to the beat or the music. That is why gospel artist should shoulder a greater responsiblity to minister the Word of God.

All I know is that we NEVER have to compromise to win the lost. Its true that we have to update our ways to reach the lost, but we NEVER have to compromise to reach them. We are supposed to be different, to standout... I heard that T Payne produced this album, they have David Banner on another song and so on...I can see where they might feel that if they include non-gospel artists on their projects, then they may attract new listeners...but the true message of CHRIST from Erica and Tina IS ENOUGH to attract those same people...when radio stations began playing Kirk Franklin and others, people started listening...and they didnt need secular artists....God gives us power after salvation so that we may be fishers of men...we are supposed to cast our net out..but if we feel that in order to catch fish we gotta jump in the sea with them from time to time then we need to evaluate ourselves.

I am so confused. I honestly lost some respect for mary mary. First of all, people are in the club grindin on eachother to this song!!! and also to add Ne-yo, a very secular artist to the track. It just doesn't look good for them at all. I mean would we play ne-yo up in church, no. and for all those that said he is bringing out gospel, not once did he mention God in his verse. He just mentioned his swag. lol. this makes me upset.

I gotta agree with Jonathan on this one. I agree that everybody needs Jesus! I love the version with Kierra in it - it's the best one. I don't think I'm hating - I'm giving my opinion? I'd rather listen to gospel artists sing gospel. If I wanted to listen to hip hop or whatever then I would have bought their CD's. Whether you believe it or not - you bring in a different spirit with non-gospel singers. Anyone can sing about Jesus...however, I want to experience the presence of God when I listen to gospel.

I agree with most of the comments posted about this song. The original was much better. But even more than that, I find that the entire CD is not what I'm used to hearing from Mary Mary. "The Sound" mostly caters to your flesh. It makes you wanna dance. And not a holy dance either. The sound does not provoke praise or worship as did their previous CDs. You could really feel the anointing in the songs sung on previous CDs. Superfriend really offeneded me just by David Banner mentioning that in his music he "curses". I'm like, ok . . . if this guy is really trying to live for Christ, why is he still making music that includes profanity??? What does Mary Mary really wish to accomplish by adding these artists who clearly do not have the same convictions as they (Mary Mary) say they have? God does not need NeYo, David Banner or any other secular artist to touch someone's heart and cause them to turn to Him. Gospel music is supposed to be about God and God only. It's supposed to bring you to a place of praise and worship. It's supposed to bring glory and honor to God Almighty, Jesus, the Christ! It's not supposed to be about being "so fresh" or "so clean"! I get that they want to share their love for Christ with these artists, but at what price??? Let's really pray for Erica and Tina that God would have His way in their lives in whatever way He sees fit.

Okay so I stumpled on this topic after listening to their latest musical offering... I must say that I am both confused and turned off. The Production has so many secular influences! Its almost like they took every hit from the billboard charts and made an inspirational (cause its not gospel) album from the compilation, one of the songs sound just likeMiami Club music. I'm grown if I wanted to hear Miami club music I would! I swear it sounds just like "Shots" but anyway, I will not be purchasing another Mary Mary album. The single "God In Me" was a straight ripoff of T-Pains "Buy You a Drink" ! Like Rev. Timothy Wright asked back in the day "Where Do You Stand? Who's On the Lord's Side?" One of the other tracks were so vague about who they were talking about it was like "I Love you (insert name here) Kinda like BeBe and CeCe's "Addictive Love" or BeBe's entire "Love and Freedom" Album! Lol! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Tell of His goodness without out compromise!
