Dunno when the gospel music industry has been blessed to see a family band before. There have been families, and there have been bands… but this is unique, refreshing, and quite good.
A couple of months ago, I was invited to the offices of EMI Gospel for a special showcase of one of their newest artists– a family band called forever JONES. After the set, I got a chance to speak with Kim & DeWitt Jones (Mom and Dad) about the group. It is TRULY a family ministry. Much of what they do is birthed out of years of having daily devotional time together, as a FAMILY, every morning.
To give you an idea of how great even their raw talent is, the legendary and incomparable producer Tommy Sims took a listen and took the reigns of the production for their whole album. And it sounds TIGHT.
You’ll definitely be hearing more about them as we get closer to the release of their debut album, entitled Get Ready, but I want you to check ‘em out now by watching a video from their showcase (and if you look hard enough, you’ll see me on the right side, wearing a checkered shirt!).
