O Holy Night Countdown: #1 – Kim Burrell

Okaaaay, so my FAVORITE video performance of “O Holy Night” came from the one and only Kim Burrell. I used to listen to this repeatedly for about 45 minutes.  Now, I’m down to about 20. ;-)

Just listen to Kim tickle the ivories, and sing like only she can, on this holiday classic, “O Holy Night.”

If, for some reason, the video wouldn’t show on your computer, click here to check it out at MySpace videos.

How do you like that arrangement?  That piano?!  Geeeez…

Wow. Thanks for posting. I'm a huge fan of Kim and I haven't seen this performance before. I love her ability to interpret songs in such a unique way. My favorite version still has to be the old Mariah Carey version. Man, I wish she could still sing like that.

This was beautiful! I love the lyrics and her style is so unique. I love when singers can truly "own" a song cause that shows that they are really feeling what they are singing about instead of just mocking what they have heard. I also loved when she added that part about breaking the chains because that's my Christmas celebration-a miracle. *Her signature stands out everytime with the same type of message on every song....Just amazing! That's what I like about her.

This was the perfect song for our Christmas day EJ!!! Kim is doing her thing on this one. I do have to agree with Jones, however. Mariah Carey pretty much put this song away and broke it down so it will forever be broken.
