It has a similar pattern to Never Would... but it's not. The message is still very encouraging, and the song is good :-) Thanks for posting it...

the song is very incouraging i love the words he saw the best in me, i might could not have made a song out of it bcause im not a song writer but thats what God tells me everyday that hes looking past my faults and seeing my needs so the words he saw the best in me i put it as present hes seeing the best in me thats why he continue to keep me as the apple of hes eye.I love him and i love song writers like Marvin that can make music out of the words that the Lord can only give him to make a song out of what i cant

  • EJ wrote on December 22, 2009

yeah, i dunno if i like it more than "never would have made it," but it's a pretty catchy track.

  • matthew5and9 wrote on December 22, 2009

it's ok. so this is the first track being released? ummmmmm, not really sure. while this was playing, all i could think about was GOD favored me by hez walker and vanessa bell armstrong's "bring out the best in me". in fact, if karen didn't come on after it i would have played vanessa's cd. it's a catchy tune.

  • Kiesha wrote on December 22, 2009

I think it is a nice song, I just have never liked when artists have tried to so obviously recreate that hit that was so big for them. "Never Would Have Made It" broke records and blessed alot of people but that was "NWHMI". When you get a breakout smash like that, don't try to top it or duplicate it....why not leave well enough alone. Just be satisfied that God gave you that song when He did and favored it with the exposure to reach alot of people. However, it is a nice song and Marvin sounds good as always.

I like the hook... I'm sure I could medley it with something else. Surely there has to be a better one to be the title track though.

  • Terry wrote on December 22, 2009

  • malatte wrote on December 23, 2009

This song is just as encouraging as "Never Would Have Made It". When I first heard it I had chills going through my face. I was in the car waving my hand in the air. This song says so much!!! Love it!

  • GodOverEverything_05 wrote on December 23, 2009

Forget what everyone else is talking about..This song is another hit in the Gospel industry Marvin keep it up..I use to really favor Kirk Franklin, but Marvin's last cd got me thinking that Kirk isn't the only favorite on my list anymore..Yall have to give him his props..If you've really been through something then you kan relate to most songs perfektly, so if you haven't had this happen to you then you wouldnt really like the song as much..I usually dont fall in love with songs the first time i hear them, but this is a first..This is a testimony and nice ministering song...---To God be the glory..KT#15

I am a Marvin Sapp fan to the bone... and this is a winner.... don't compare "Never Would Have Made It" to this song because it speaks volumes on it's own... and truth be told NWHMI was not the best song on the last CD....Thirsty, Praise Him in Advance. and all the others were just as powerful.... Love him and love this new song!!!!

  • v4c wrote on December 23, 2009

Nodding my head at Keisha's comment! My thoughts exactly... Nice song though! :-)

  • Lmgo wrote on December 23, 2009

It's nice...i think they should of released a song with a different feel for the lead single...cause people are gonna automatically compare it to "never would..." cause they are similar! But I'm sure it will be a successful single and project...nice.

Song is cool. I like it. I mean, its a tried and true formula that works with church folk. Chord structure and patterns that always work in church settings. Match with lyrics that minimizes the sin that we commit in our individual lives but somehow always points out how people hate on us (cause you know, we're blameLESS ALL the time). I know, I went off the deep end with my commentary. I hope for continued success in Pastor Sapps ministry. Cutting back on my Hillsong.

  • Glenda wrote on December 23, 2009

To "..." I hear you. Interesting comments. What do you mean cutting back on your Hillsong?

  • Fred wrote on December 23, 2009

I understand what some of you're thinking. Yes it does sound a bit like "Never would've Made it" but it shouldn't matter how much a song sounds like another or not as long as it's carrying the word of god in it it shouldn't matter. This is a great song and it speaks to me. I'm glad I finally found it.

  • Leslie wrote on December 23, 2009

This song is a CERTIFIED SMASH! Marvin Sapp has done it again! This song ministers to anyone who has been pushed aside, made to feel less than or has been told that you couldn't do it! God always sees the best in US even when others don't!

It's an anointed song that was birth from being in the secret place with God...and can not be compared with another song. People need to hear a song like this - (The Best in me)... because of the days that we are living in are so challenging, & ENCOURAGEMENT will bring you hope in whatever situation you are facing. Marvin keep allowing God to fuel your desire to WORSHIP HIM as you spend time in his presence....I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD!!!

And let me tell you I have done so many things that I am not proud of. But thank you Lord. I am yours and you are mine. This song is such an emcourgement to me. You see me for who I am. • Latashia wrote on December 28, 2009

Why are people comparing this song to others? What do the words say to you? How do it help you? Who cares who wrote a song like it before! This really hurts that people of God talk like this, It's about the Heart change, the soul being moved, some one being saved and set free right?

  • Gina wrote on December 28, 2009

Different songs talk to different situations. This song speaks to my spirit, it makes you think about whatever you are going through or have went through. it makes you think about all those people who have let you down. This song is a blessing in itself.

  • Kenya wrote on December 28, 2009

I truly can say that This Song is a blessing...And Marvin Sapp has allowed God to truly use him in this song. It doesn't matter what it sounds like to those that think it sounds like "Never would have made it" It's the words that mean something. He saw the best in me...when everyone else around could only see the worst in me...That's a testimony for all of us right there.....Encouragement is what the body of christ needs

  • Kelli wrote on December 28, 2009

I don't think that this song should be compared to NWHMI. This song has substance all its own. It makes me contemplate the great love Jesus has for me and sets the atmosphere for worship. I'm transparent before Him, He sees my flaws and all yet he loves me anyway; His compassion for me fails not, which makes me want to explode in worship, bowing before Him, lifting my hands to Jesus for always seeing the best in me. What a friend we have in Jesus...my redeemer, waiting for me patiently and willing to love me even when I was unlovable...what a love, what a love, what a love!! I love Marvin Sapp and I appreciate that his music is pure and holy and glorifies God and remains untainted from worldy influence...I can appreciate that and I praise God for it! Jesus, purchased my liberty while I was yet in my sins...glory to God!!

This song is so relevant to so many people who are feeling like people don't know or understand them but, God does and that who they are living for. Your past is just that in the past and your future is in Gods hand and not anyone elses hand and this is what this song tells me. Your past mistakes are you missing the mark but your present is a gift from God telling you that He holds your tomorrows. I loved this song the first time I heard it. When I first heard it, I thought of my 15 yr old daughter. I tell her all the time GOD has something planned for her and the d.... is always trying to get her off track. In the song Marvin says "when mama said you will never be nothing" I have never told any of my 4 children that, but i believe some folks may have said it about my 15yr old. the d...is a lie. All of my children are an inheritance from the LORD , and we're all blessed and highly favored. That's what Pastor Marvin is saying in the song. "He saw the best in me."

The first time I heard this song, I was so excited that God allowed him to do it again! I was going thru something and this song literally spoke to my spirit. I called my girlfriend to ask if she have had a chance to hear it and she said no. But the very next day, she called me to say she listened to it. Her exact words were "It is the bomb!" One of the reasons why I love Marvin Sapp's ministry is because his songs speaks of the Word of God, life experiences and what a persons' soul and spirit is experiencing. I feel so connected with his ministry!

Pastor Marvin Sapp has been used by God in a mighty way in song. And once again, he is ministering in a great way. The first time I heard this, I just began to cry. For there are those like myself who people turned their back on and wrote me off. They said I wasn't going to be anything. But God saw more in me than I even saw in myself. Thank God for this song. It looked in my life. And I'm sure it will look in a lot of others and speak to their spirit. Keep letting God use you. I can't wait for the rest of it.

  • Savoy wrote on January 4, 2010

Thank Pastor Marvin. When I heard the song, I was immediately encourage to go on a little furthur. Sometimes circumstances and people will make you feel like you are not good enough. Like your time has passed. I'm so glad God sees the best in me even when I don't see it in myself. My pastor said on Sunday that we need to see ourselves like God sees us. Pastor Marvin, from glory to glory and faith to faith! Keeping your hands in God's hands will always touch the hearts of God's people. I pray God will continue to use your ministry.

  • Crystal B wrote on January 4, 2010

Sometimes we get so caught up in what is a "hit" and what is not. We worry about a song being better than the previous one. True gospel artists don't think about trying to top the last hit they had; they just sing the words that God has given them. Just as God had given Pastor Marvin Sapp the words to "Never Would Have Made It", He has given him the inspiration behind this new track. Sometimes it doesn't take a whole lot to express the goodness of and appreciation towards God. Anybody with a testimony should enjoy this beautiful song. Listen to the words and stop judging and comparing the song to others. "He is mine and I am his/it doesn't matter what I did/'cuz He only sees me for who I am...HE SAW THE BEST IN ME!!!" Haters will always point out the worst in us, whether it's the way we dress or our attitude. They refuse to see the good that is in us. My pastor always says, "There is more to me than what you see!" I encourage all of you: just as God sees the best in us, we should bring out the very best in ourselves. May the love of God be with you always!!!

OMG! I heard this song & began to cry. Just when you have fallen short or going through, here comes God to encourage you through song at the right time. God has a way of coming right on time, right when you need to hear a word, something. My spirit is lifted & I just want to worship. This is a beautiful, awesome, annointed, worship experience song. Thank you Lord. I needed this today.

  • dj wrote on January 5, 2010

This song is so awesome. Marvin you did it again. This is a song that makes you stop and think about what people said and then you realize that I am still here and it is because of exactly what this song say, He Saw The Best. I was getting some praise dance moves together for this song and I couldn't get through the entire song. This song is magnificent. For anyone who say this song is alright. I ask you to just listen to the lyrics. At one time or another we all have been called something out of our name. But, because God saw something in us (THE BEST) that other people didn't is why we are still here. Marvin, thank you for another hit and keep using your gift that God has given you.

Truly I thank God for choosing me before the foundation of the world was formed to be a saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled woman even when He knew people would not see the best in me. He is the only one that matters.

  • Alicia wrote on January 6, 2010

I LOVE IT! Being raised in the church I tend to stand out from other females my age. I don't get loud, I don't reveal a lot of skin or wear my clothes too tight and carry myself as the queen my mother taught me to be. So when most guys meet me, they only see the outer me. At first they think I'm "playing church" until they realize I don't play church I go to church, I'm active in the church, for the church is in me. I believe in the God I serve and they don't stick around. I used to always question why I'm single, but it's alright because God sees the BEST IN ME. He's not concerned with what the world views as beauty, but he searches my heart and finds the very best in each of us.

I absolutely love this true praise and worship song! It ministers to my spirit and to my heart. The words of the song are so true. When man told me that I never amount to anything, God was right there to prove them wrong. It doesn't matter what I did in the past, God saw the best in me! I love how Marvin Sapp not only sings the words, but he speaks throughout the song and ministers, that's how you know he has a personal testimony, and is not in the music industry to make money. He is actually spreading the word of God thru his music, and there could possibly be alot of souls saved from just hearing jus how good God is!

The words are wonderful--especially for those of us who this song speaks to intimately. I don't care if it's a carbon copy of another song, what's important, is that it reaches the hearts of God's people. Many are in a dark place and need to know God knows them, God sees them for who they are AND loves and accepts them--no matter what! What’s so amazing about this single, and I believe the album, is its ability to unmask the the RIGHT in what most have determined as WRONG...”Transparence”! So many churches, or should I say the members within them, have fallen astray from the purpose of ministry and replaced it with what feels/sounds good or what will keep the trustees/deacons/mothers traditionally content! That doesn’t work ANYMORE! The CHILDREN of today need and desire to hear the TRUTH! YES, I’ve paid for my girl to have an abortion (she, nor I, was ready to face the hear-say); YES I pleasure myself and want to quit..YES-I cuss and will tell a lie if I think it will get me out of trouble…….BUT THAT’S NOT WHO I AM NOR WHAT I WANT TO BE/DO….. SO UNTIL I’M NOT WHAT DOING THOSE THINGS, WHO’S GOING TO ACCEPT ME AND HELP ME TO GET TO THE PLACE WHERE CHRIST IS EXCITED ABOUT MY WORSHIP; MY LIFE! Thank you Brother Marvin Sapp for setting the record straight and telling it like it is..GOD (ONLY) SEES THE BEST IN ME! ~VesSouL~

I don'e know about you but you can only appreciate this song if not so much what people has had to say about you but when you yourself have ever believed that you were far beyond the reach of God's acceptance of you. What's cool is that God see's you for who are long before you get there.

Thank God he doesnt see us as others. We as the body of Christ are not victims we are victorious as we began to know who we are in Him. To know whos you are and who you are is the most powerful testimony of all. There is a call to repentence for the body of Christ. Be strong in faith and God will always bring you out. Without holiness no man will see God. So let us as the body of Christ continue to strive for the newness of life and not justify sin. I said all of that to say its our duty as the body of Christ to intercede for the brethren for deliverance and a non compromise lifestyle. Be steadfast my sister/brother knowing the work you do for Christ will last it is not in vain. Much love

I See Alot of Negative Comments on Marvin Sapp's The Best In Me. Realize those that are Giving these Negative Comments Probably have NOT GONE THROUGH ANYTHING in their Lives of a Great Trial. When You have Gone Through and Have Been Persecuted By Others and By those that Claim to LOVE YOU and Care For You. This Song Ministers to Those that Have Been Broken and it Has Taken GOD HIMSELF to See the Best In Me! You Or Anyone Else that Said You Would NEVER Be Nothing Or Nobody In this WORLD! My God, My God!!!!! But to Know that God Sees You as Who You are to HIM and Not How those that Put You Down See YOU. Pastor Sapp" Continue to Go Forth Singing In the ANOINTING OF GOD!!! That is what is Going to DESTROY YOKES and I PRAY that those People who had a Negative Comment Will See that this is a RIGHT NOW SONG for their HURT and their Pain In the NAME OF JESUS. Philippians 2:10,11 That at the NAME of JESUS EVERY KNEE Should BOW,of things in Heaven, and things in Earth and things Under the Earth; and that EVERY TONGUE should Confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD to the Glory of GOD the Father. Bless Your NAME JESUS!!!

I couldnt help but to break down and cry because this song really touched my spirit. I may be young but I know a lil' some about God. He's done a lot for me and I go through things at school and my surroundings. this song is the theme song of my life. • Janet wrote on February 3, 2010

I absolutely love that song. When I step outside the will of God, if only by thinking ill of my neighbor, God still see's the best in me. Sometimes those around us try to remind us of the worst in us. Thank God that God see's the best in us. We can repent and be forgiven. Mankind doesn't always try to see the best in others.

Who couldn't or wouldn't serve a GOD like that. This song speaks volumes...Love it!!! God Bless you Marvin.

When I first heard this song, it was on the Celebration of Gospel and I was facing all kind of problems. My fiancee left me, I got laid off from my job, my oldest son is out here lying on me, so I was going through. I had suicidal thoughts and everything that you can imagine, but Pastor's Sapp song minister to my spirit, that when everyone eles turn their backs on you, when family and friends walk out and leave you, when people always want to harp on the bad, God sees the best. The God that He looks beyond ALLLLLL of my faults and see my needs. He truly sees me for who I am, for the Bible says that He that has begun a great work in you shall see it through to the day of completion. May God keep you my brothers and sisters.

  • Pam wrote on February 14, 2010

"He Saw the Best in Me" is simply awesome. It speaks to my spirit and my life. As a young child, I had a family member speak negatively over my life, zero expectations for me and I can honestly say . . . . that in spite of that negativity and all of the obstacles . . . God has favored my life and he saw the best in me . . . and he has carried me . . . though I have strayed . . . I have returned to the fold and is working on my walk with him. Marvin Sapp has a special gift of taking simple statements/words and turning them into songs. Consider "Never Would Have Made It" and now this new release. I can only say how inspiring and awesome the song is . . . God Bless!

He has a guest speaker a Rev. from Atlanta GA, I do believe. On this particular morning I was feeling low, things weren't going the way I wanted it..but then I realized that everything is not meant for everyone but I heard this sontg & I felt something come across me. If nothing else, this song was meant for ME! I fell in love with this song and had to hunt it down...finally there it was..and yes...I do know...He does see the BEST IN ME!..WOW !

This song says so much. For the older generation, we were often told that we were not going to be anything, because we were like ????. But "He Saw the Best In Me", is right on point. God sees the best in me, when everyone else can only see the worst in me. Many people think I'm mean, or this or that, but I know God sees the real me.
