ChitChat: Tell Me Your Favorite Yolanda Adams Album

I’m merely curious and felt like getting a chat goin’…

What’s your favorite Yolanda Adams album?

PERSONALLY, my fave is her Through The Storm album.  In my opinion, it featured some of the greatest vocal performances she’s ever done, including the title track, ”The Only Way,” “Just A Prayer Away,” “Let Thy Will Be Done”… all of it!

I guess a close second would be her Mountain High… Valley Low album… and don’t even get me started on the work she did with the Southeast Inspirational Choir– who remembers her lead vocal on “My Liberty” from waaaaaay back???

Just for your convenience, I’ve placed a nifty little widget here, linking to Amazon.com in case you wanna listen to any of her songs.  It’s not an exhaustive list, but it’s a bunch of Yolanda’s projects.  And, if you don’t have any of ‘em, you may wanna consider buying them now– some are as low as $7!

Okay, talk to me!  Tell me your favorites!

WOW , This is a tough one. I tend to lean toward the older recordings - the first cd was special to me because it featured her work with the late GREAT Thomas Whitfield. "Sign of the Times" was in itself before its time. From "Save the World" - "Ye of Little Faith" when she started singing in Spanish - I WENT BALLISTIC when I first heard that song. On More the a Melody - "My Desire" was neo-soul BEFORE that movement even showed its face. So to answer your question dude... IONO LOL I love all her work with a special emphasis on the stuff she did with Thomas Whitfield and Ben Tankard.

Live in Washington, as it is a compilation of some of her hits. Thank You, The Battle Is The Lords, Let Us Worship Him, Through The Storm, and Just A Prayer Away. I can't leave out her singing Even Me either from one of her earlier cds. My favorite non compilation cd is Mountain High, Valley Low. @ Nicci above, I would agree with you, it seems like I can listen to that cd all the way through. Already Alright, In the Midst of It All, Yeah, That Name, and Open Up My Heart. On the More Than A Melody, I think she clowned on Take Away and Good Shepherd.

for me, it would be "Save the World" hands down. alot of it is sentimental because that's around the time i was in high school - some of the best years of my life - and i first started following gospel music. "Before I Tell Them", "Ye of Little Faith" and "Let Us Worship Him". "Mountain High, Valley Low" would be a VERY close second. i don't think i have to explain why...lol

I wasn't really into gospel when her older projects released but once I changed my music collection from R& B to gospel I would have to say that her album Believe and Day by Day would have to be my top favorite Yolanda Adams albums.

My favorite album is definitely "More than a Melody"...I love that album. My mama was a big Yolanda Adams fan when I was little, and she played that tape 'til it didn't work no more, then bought another one! I still listen to that album like it came out yesterday.

    1. SAVE THE WORLD 2. MOUNTAIN HIGH, VALLEY LOW 3. LIVE IN WASHINGTON I wore ALL these albums out. Played 'em til I couldn't stand them. Took a break, and played 'em again. I hope she comes back killin' 'em like she did back in the day. I appreciate her crossover status, but it's about time to remind folks what made them pay attention in the first place!!
