Word Has It: Onitsha's Online Listening Party

Word has it that Onitsha will be having an online listening event next week, during which fans can help her select the first single from her upcoming sophomore album, Journey.

The listening party will take place on her UStream channel– http://www.ustream.tv/OnitshaTV– on March 5th at 8pm ET.

Onitsha’s voice… jeepers. I have no words for what she’s able to do.

If you’re unfamiliar with her, (1) WHAT?! and (2) watch this video:

I'm so excited, been looking forward to her sophomore album for a long time!

I like her sound. She has a very similar tone to Brandy Norwood.

    @ v4c - I thought the EXACT same thing when I first heard Onitsha. I have her first CD and it's GOOD. She's under-rated as well....unfortunately. :o (

@ SoGr8tful - You know what they say about great minds, lol. I have her first CD in my iPod and it's good. I wish the lyrics were a bit more...mature? Not sure if that's the best word to use to describe my opinion. I listen to it occassionally but it didn't get heavy rotation at all.

I love her. She sang backup for Brandy during her "Human" era and she's really inspired by Brandy.. Onitsha's tone and runs are ridiculous. I think she's about to explore some really complex harmonies/layering on her next album. Can't wait for the listening party :)

I can appreciate this song right now. It hit the spot today, really on time.

Some people don't know here, but she is one of the background vocalists for the television show, American Idol....that is her side job.

@Gayle, I told someone I thought I have seen her on AI. They thought I was nuts! She has vocals that are truly slept on. Her skills are amazing!

Yes, and she's married to David Hernandez, a radio personality here in Los Angeles.
