Shekinah Glory Ministry, which brought you hits like “Praise Is What I Do” and “Yes,” is planning for its next live recording.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 16th, at 6:oopm, at Valley Kingdom Ministry International (Oak Forest, IL). Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
The recording will cap-off their praise and worship conference, which will be held that week, beginning on the 14th. Click here to visit their official site and get more details on the conference and the recording.
Their music is really good. I’ve never been a HUGE fan, for some reason that I can’t quite detect, but their appeal and anointing is undeniable. They’ve been very successful in their lane and I’m sure this project will bring more of the same.
Whatd’ya think? Anyone going to attend? Anyone excited for the new music? Talk to me!

I agree with your points about this choir. I have a couple of their CDs but they are not in regular rotation. I think I even have their DVD. They do what they do well. Now why is there a charge for the recording session? I guess that's weird to me 'cause I grew up in Detroit where recordings were/are (still) free. I mean seriously: pay to get into to the recording session AND then buy the CD too when it comes out? (Eyeroll)
I enjoyed listed to Shekinah Glory Ministry. I enjoy their music as well what Shekinah brings is MINISTRY, they never said that they was coming to entertain you but bring forth ministry the bio even states that their not artist but ministers of the Gospel. I have attending recording sessions thats ask you to pay to enter but I do not see a problem with that. But to further understand I went to the site and I saw that they are doing a Praise & Worship Workshop so maybe that has something to do with the charge. be it as it may a charge is only sewing a seed into a ministry that has blessed millions of people. YES I will continue to buy their music its different and no one else is doing it...
I just hope it is better than their last CD....
I think for me the problem is that they tend to have a two-disc set, and only 2, MAYBE 3 good songs out of 20 or more... It's the radio hit, and maybe one more song that is "good"...in my opinion. I do appreciate them staying in their lane however. I'm sure that's what has caused them to be successful. I think church choirs are more successful when they do what they do, and not what is commercially expected or popular at the time...
I tend to LOVE their radio hits and not much else. I remember buying the first CD and being really dissappointed. Not that they didn't sound good but the format wasn't what I was expecting. And the songs were like 5 hours long, lol. But they do minister to a lot of people so I'm glad they're around to be a blessing.
Paul: sowing a seed is fine. Then make it a FREE-WILL seed versus dictating what the seed should be, right? And while I do recognize that if the recording session is part of the workshop, then how much was the registration fee? Couldn't the recording be included? All this double-triple dipping fpr money can't be justifiable.... Other posters articulated it well: lots of songs on the 2-disc CD but only a few tracks that really seem to connect with listeners en masse.
I love Shekinah Glory from day one when Praise is What I do came out!! They are awesome!!!! They know how to worship and usher in the presecnes of God the anointing so strong and poweful!!! I have all their cd's and dvd's. I live in Fl so cant attend live recording but will purchase cd/dvd!!!!
@Paul: I am in agreement with your post. I heard the song, "Yes" at a church service. I enjoy music of substance that causes constructive and realistic reflection. If I was in the area, I would attend the session. I would love to hear them live at my church. I have a cd and a DVD. I just recently added the song "Higher" to my ringtone. If you have not heard that song, you are missing out. I am annoyed by songs where the artist is constantly singing about themselves. That is so vain and unwise because you need so much more wisdom and support. If God is truly lifted by the lyrics and the approach, you get the geniune and long lasting blessing.
I'm with y'all as far as the ministry. They do it well. I'm a fan of their first disc and every thing else is sporadic. I think there was something about their first disc that breathed a breath of fresh air into the genre at the time. I have not bought an album since then. I pray this one is tight. If it is I may make another purchase.
Shekinah Glory Ministries' music has been a blessing to me. As I stop everything else, and truly listen to their music, I can feel the presence of the Lord surround me.
It's crazy because they are very successful. Their first two CDs have been certified Gold. They have a Platinum DVD and a Gold DVD. That is unusual, so they have definitely blessed a lot of folks. They do stay in their own lane throughout it all, though.
i guess their music is okay for what it is...if you're into that type of thing. it's just that all of their songs are sooooo slooooowww and sooooo booorrriiinnnggg and sooooo loooooonnnggg. on top of that, you get TWO discs of it? no thanks.
@Eazy..............literally falling outta my chair in laughter at ur comment hilaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarious I too have beena bit dissappointed with their actual CD's . Yes they are ministers but on a 2 disc cd of like twenty six minute songs you'll probably find only 2 that u'll enjoy. Saw them minister Yes on Celebration of Gospel a few years back ....absolutely loved it went to buy the cd without sampling 1st....and ended up enjoying just one other song.....Their songs do seem to drag on and on and on and on thooooooooo.....
I have to agree with a lot of what been said about Shekinah Glory Ministries. They are amazing, but sometimes they are just too deep. Their hit songs deserved to be hit songs, but don't give me 2 cd's of the same slow, trying to be deep songs. Their lack of versatility is what turns me off with them. Maybe this one will be different.
I love them, they are one anointed group! I am anxious for the new music,I know it is going to be a blessing to me!
I agree with most of the posts here...great ministry, and they have definately had some great hits and all but why are the songs sooooo long! I'm a worshiper and a worship leader and unless the presence of God is moving...CUT IT OFF YOU LOSE THE PEOPLE! (EJ...that's an idea for another blog...LOL)
1. Hmmm, as far as the double cds, I believe they do it for one because now its like their trademark to do a double every time. Also, you have to realize if you buy a Cd from them, it counts as 2 cd's sold since its a double. That's how their numbers always look so big. 2. As far as charging for a recording, most artists don't really have the money to pay for the projects so in most cases they are charging to help pay for expenses. Even with the workshop they will be doing, I think its a more so a way to help raise funds to pay for the project. 3. I've never really liked the group personally, like everyone else has said, there are usually like 2 good songs out of the 2 cds, but hey, with all the success they have had, obviously someone loves them, lol
Luda, someway, somehow, when you said what you said re. #2, it makes more sense and it sounds less shady/greedy.... don't know why that is, but it is.... ;-)
It is sad how we don't want to support one another, we have receive so much free, until we feel everything should be free. Now I read a post about the Shekniah Glory Ministry are charging to get in, how well they sing it is worth it. I can't understand how we refuse to support each other and expected to have everything for free. It is nothing wrong with Shekniah Glory Ministry charging for their access. Many of us talk about the cost of a CD when we cheat still by using a person CD to download it to the computer or make copies without trying to purchase one. So you tell me why you have a problem with support if it was you, you would want the same.
Support is both subjective and relative. A CD isn't free (at least it's not for me. I don't bootleg). I refuse to apologize or be ashamed for at least questioning the rationale for charging for anything, particularly because for my consulting services, I'm not cheap and I have credentials to back my stuff up. And if you can back your stuff up, you shouldn't have a problem being questioned about such things. So I'm telling everybody up in here that it's never a problem for me to inquire about justifying a fee or "supporting" something/somebody. And I acknowledged Luda's point upthread so I remain teachable...when the instruction/insight is constructive and not condescending or hostile.
Its not about how many songs are hits, or what the cost is for the sessions its about ministry and souls. We spend so much more on none sense, but when someone is putting something out that may save a life of someone at there lowest point, we complain. Thank God for their ministry I love it because there has been some times I was going through.
