I was totally overwhelmed by the responses to the first post of The Prayer List, the new weekly series in which we lift up in prayer one person in the gospel music industry for the entire week.
The first person we prayed for was Erica Campbell, of Mary Mary, who expressed extreme gratitude and thankfulness knowing that an entire community was praying for her like that.
I’m grateful that you guys got behind this vision, praying on the blog, at your homes, re-tweeting on Twitter, sharing on Facebook… You guys rock. We’re keeping it moving with what God says to do– this is soooo much fun to me!
This week, we’re praying for JJ Hairston. Not only is he the cool, gentle-spirited choirmaster of one of the hottest contemporary choirs in gospel music, Youthful Praise, he’s also a dope husband and father with a big heart. So, let’s do it!
Lord, thank You for the man that You’ve created JJ to be. Thank You for sculpting him a long time ago, to fulfill a specific purpose in this world. Thank You for the gift of music that You’ve given him, but thank You, also, for the gifts You’ve imparted that the world has yet to experience.
I pray for his continued growth and maturity as a man, as a husband, as a father, as a recording artist. I pray that You would guide JJ in every area of his life. I pray that You would give him the wisdom and clarity to make decisions that would impact Youthful Praise, the choir he leads, and the family over which You have made him the head. I pray for his continued success, not for his own glory, but for yours.
I pray that You would bless his humble heart and meek manner. God, as he gives himself fully to Your calling and destiny for his life, it’s my prayer that You would fill in the gaps– whatever they may be. You are the masterful equipper of every work we’ll do, and I trust You for complete preparation and provision for JJ Hairston. And I pray that He would find rest in your ability to the Creator of Heaven and Earth. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord, I thank you for the awesome ministry you have given to our bro JJ Hairston. I thank you for his leadership and ministry and I pray you would continue to guide him in every step he takes. I pray that you would give him wisdom in every decision that he makes, concerning his life, family, and choir. I pray that you would strengthen and protect him and his family and choir in good times and in bad times, and above all, that your name would always be glorified in his life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Lord of All and Creator of All Things...Father, we love you and we thank you because of who you are. Cleanse me of my unrighteousness...I repent right now...and I accept your forgiveness. Please receive this humble prayer. Lord, we are lifting up worship leader, JJ Hairston, in prayer. I ask that you will continue to fill him with songs inspired by You to be a blessing to You and your body. Thank You, Lord, for opening his ear and his heart to receive from You so that he can be used. His ministry (especially his most recent CD) has been a blessing to me and many others. Please bless and reward him for his obedience and his willingness to serve You, Lord. Please give him everything that he needs to be the man that you've called him to be in his marriage, with his children, and in the ministry you've called him to lead...and may he be wise enough to accept what You provide. May he continue to lean and depend on you for all that he needs and for instruction. In Jesus name...Amen.
Father, Thank you for the life and ministry of our brother, JJ...May he continue to embrace the calling on his life...May he rise early to seek You...May he hear your voice clearly...May he be swiftly obedient to your promptings...When You speak, he obeys, in totality. I pray that he reaps a continual harvest for the seeds of hope he has sown into the hearts of thousands of listeners...that for every moment of time he has spent in Your presence that has ultimately blessed us, You bless him right back, bountifully. I ask that his heart continue to be soft before You...that pride is far from him, and that his limits are only as strict as his own imagination. I pray that he is surrounded by godly counsel..that he continue to be a man of integrity..trusted in, confided in, and depended upon. I pray that JJ's tongue is as the pen of a ready writer..and that the songs, hymns, and spiritual songs you give him to sing back to you in worship will shape not only our generation, but generations that follow, and the generations that follow them. In the matchless name of our risen Savior, Jesus the Christ, I pray. Amen.
Lord we pray for JJ hairston. Thank you for allowing him to minister to the word to all of us through song through songs you have given him to minister to the world. May someone listen to those words and be encouraged through something they are going through. Please bring him the desires of his heart as you call him to be a a visionary. May his family be blessed and continue to allow him to live his life in way that is pleasing to you that may cause others to say what must I do to be saved. Amen
My Father, Alpha AND Omega. I pray you continue to use JJ Hairston as a vital part in the gospel ministry BUT also to continue to inspire, motivate, awaken and engergize your children. May each song be ministered with you Holy Spirit intwined in each note, word and music. I pray the Your Spirit of Peace, Unity, Love and Prosperity flow into the lives of JJ and his family. I thank You, Oh Lord, in advance for the movement and transformation that will occur in his life, fmaily and those blessed by JJ Hairston's ministry.
Father i thank you for the life of your son JJ Hairston and your call on his life, thank you for the grace to do what you have ordained for him, thank you for his family and members of Youthful Praise as well. I ask that you take him to the next level both in his life and ministry; grant him divine direction to do only what you tell him, and go only where you lead him. Let his music bring healing, revival and restoration to nations in Jesus Name, Amen.
Lord I thank you for the ministry works that JJ Harirston has released in the earth. Thank you Lord for putting it on his heart not to be selfish with his gift and share it with others so that other can be touched and draw closer to you. Greater things are to come for you Minister Hairston, the best is yet to come for you and your family. Continue to stay faithful and stand on God's word and believe when no one else does! Lord give him the wisdom to be the true leader of his house. I pray that his prayer life will be enriched as he reads and revelation comes to him reading your word. Thank you Jesus for the prophetic gifts that are yet to be released in his life. Stay at the Lord's feet and he will raise you up mightly in the spirit! In Jesus Name, Amen!
Lord, we honor you and bless your name. You're an awesome God and worthy of all praise. We lift up J.J. Hairston to you today, Lord. We earnestly pray for wisdom and continued spiritual growth as he leads his family and his ministry. We pray for him in all of his work and his relationships with others. We pray for peace in times of testing and hardship. We pray for strength in areas of temptation. We pray for his wife and children. Lord grant them sufficiency in all things. May he continue to be fruitful in every good work, increasing in knowledge and strengthened with all might according to your glorious power. Lord, continue to extend your mercy to J.J. We give you all of his worries and concerns. Thank you for the ministry he has already given to us. You’re an awesome God and you get all the honor and the praise. We pray this prayer in faith and in Jesus name. Let your will be done. Be glorified in everything, Amen.
Jesus I first want to say that I adore and love you for everything you did! I just don`t praise you for what you have done but for who you are! I pray that JJ Hariston will continue to grow spiritually and reah out to those that are unsaved that ther is hope in you. I pray that you would teach him the way of Holiness and learn to rubuke, exhort and preach in a way that people would come to the altar saying what must I do to be saved? Continue to use him for your service, these and other blessing, I pray in Jesus name amen. EJ I love your prayer list, good way to spread the gospel across the globe!
Dear Heavenly Father, please stretch your hand over JJ Hairston and his family. If there be any sickness, heal it Lord. If there be any heartache, mend it Lord. Let your blessings rain down upon them! We thank you in advance, in your son's Jesus name, Amen!
