CLASSIC tune for me.
I think I first heard this over a decade ago– my high school choir was singing it and some soloist was screeching and laboring to hit notes that Lecresia Campbell sings with minimal effort. I wasn’t impressed.
By the time I heard the actual version of the song, though, I fell in love with it (and detested the soloist who dared to try it at my school “all the more”).
Nobody can sing like Lecresia. And there are few choirs as good as the Wilmington Chester Mass Choir. Here’s “The Change Will Come”:

I can only LOL at this because we share the experience. You have certainly brought back memories (not only of high school, but of the infallible Lecresia Campbell). This song truly speaks into my life. Watch the Lord take your something, and CHANGE IT!! The change may not come today, but the change will come. Hallelujah
