Last week, the judges of BET’s hit gospel competition, Sunday Best, stunned a couple of viewers by not naming contestant Bethany Devine as one of the ten finalists to progress to the next round.
It remains to be seen whether she’ll be selected THIS Sunday as the judges’ wildcard pick. In the meantime, though, why should the rest of us suffer without some good Bethany Devine music?! 
I was able to secure a new track she’s recorded, titled ”Trust.” And I’ve just added it to the PunditPlayer.
She WILL be dropping a solo album, titled Spirit Of Love, verrry soon. Incidentally, she released her first solo project, Fruit Of The Spirit, in 2005, so there’s QUITE a bit of music available from this songbird. I can personally say Bethany is not only a vocal beast but is one of the sweetest hearts you'll EVER encounter! I've had the opportunity to work w/ her on several occasions and you betta make sure u are on your game b/c she ALWAYS is! Love u Beth!

Bethany Devine, Sunday Best did her a favor by rejecting her. Reality show like American Idol own you lock stock and barrel. Sunday Best is manage under the same mode. American Idol gross $200 Million dollars per season(Commercial Time $2 Million per 30 second spot) Susan Boyle sold over 10 Millions copies of her CD,Susan Boyle is a multimillionaire,but Simon (Own her rights) pocket $36 Million just from the sales of her CD. I believe Ms Devine,with a degree in finance did her homework and realize she has more to lose than to gain if she sign a contract with Sunday Best. She will have more control over her career and image and the freedom to choose and pick in the best of her interest.

So am I understanding that Bethany is yet another SB contestant who has released an album? I thought the contestants had to be "amateurs/nonprofessionals".... Wow.... the inconsistency of SB is remarkable. Congrats to Bethany.
I have Bethany's music and LOVE it! She was destined for greatness and nothing can stop it. I would encourage everyone to get on board, support her, and help her soar. God's hand is on her life. GET THE MUSIC!
"Sunday Best" producers needs to stiffen up their policies on contestants entering the competition. It is not fair to have contestants who already have existing projects and/or were on record labels. S.M.H. Let those people just find better managers.

Man, not only are her two projects THE BOMB, but the live Devine experience is phenomenal!!! You won't find a more pure worship, nor will you find a more humble vessel!!! Bethany definitely has a voice that is distinct and her style is one of a kind. She is also a beautiful person, both inside and out. I've had the privilege of being in the studio with her, and I can testify that she is one of the hardest working singers I know. And with a creativity that you won't find any where else, B is destined for mega success. Besides, SB is only looking for screamers any way.

Bethany's music has truly blessed my life from back in the day when she was singing with her sisters, then Fruit of the Spirt. This song is amazing & is ministering to my spirit at this moment...so right on time! Bethany's voice & singing style is a blessing & a breath of fresh air in inspirational music. Her genuine nature is evident through her music, let SB sleep, God will have his way and ALL the glory anyway! (Jesus was rejected too, so was Jennifer Hudson) I'm so excited about this new CD...Congratulations Sister, you have made it to the next level!

Agreeing with Tam Tam and Keisha M here. It seems that she should not have been qualified for the competition if she already has material out.
Bethany has a very sweet and humble spirit. I had an opportunity to see her perform in Little Rock AR at The Village December 2009. She has an amazing voice and personality. I attended high school with Bethany, and she is the same today as she was back then. Bethany, continue to work hard and know that what God has for you can't no man take it away or postpone it hunny. All of the people who have issues with SB should take it up with them...BE an adult & go to BET's website to flood THEIR blog with your issues. Wow...just like Jesus was persecuted for nothing...here we go with the haters!!! The wonderful thing about it is that you know your stuff is HOT when the haters show up....God will prepare a table before your enemies...gotta have enemies & haters in order for the table to be prepared!!! People are really ignorant. Bethany is an independent artist. She is not signed to any label so please stop talking about things you know nothing about. Anyone who purchases studio time and pays to get cds duplicated and replicated can produce an independent album and Mrs. Devine is great!
I don't think we should blame this on SB or the upcoming artists. I don't see nothing wrong with the artists trying to get more exposure. We know that SB doesn't have the true time to develop an amatuer/non professional, the show is cut in half compare to american idol....lol Thanks EJ for the nugget and Bethany, love your ministry.
@Amar How ironic that you advise others to act like an "adult" but you use terminology like "haters"...what person over 18 still says that? L.O.L. May I ask what exactly it is that we are "haters" of....a booted contestant off a reality show? Is that correct? I just want to be clear on that. Thank you for sharing Bethany's website! So glad we'll have an opportunity to hear more from her beyond the television show. Reiterating a previous comment, you can have recordings released as an "unsigned", non-label committed, independent artist. I applaud many of the talented people on SB that recognize their value and have not waited for a reality show to validate their gift.

This post is about Bethany's New single..Not about Sunday's Best or the requirements to get on Sunday's Best. Some of the posts on here are seriously disturbing...It went from having an issue with Sunday's Best's policies to now having an issue with Bethany. If you do not agree with certain things about Sunday's Best thats fine. If you are not a supporter of Bethany's thats fine too, but the comments aren't really necessary and are becoming redundant.
I love it Bethany!! Disregard ANY posts that have strayed away from the topic which is this beautiful song!! Everything else is irrelevant! Let God get glory outta you girl!! Folkz may have issues with one thing or the other but I tell ya one thing... the general consensus of this song is that itz HOT!! Love ya!!!

So Sharelll, you do realize that the VERY FIRST SENTENCE in EJ's blog entry about Bethany includes the reference "Sunday Best", yes? Seriously... you do see that, right? So what's unfortunate is that my initial post (or actually, none of my posts) say NOTHING (negative) about Bethany's singing ability. My criticism was about the SHOW, not Bethany. And, if you and Bethany's "supporters" would have carefully read my first post, I end it with the sentence "Congrats to Bethany." And so the subsequent posts by (some of) her "fans/stans" are quite disturbing. It reminds me of the scripture "Don't let your good be evil spoken of...." The venom spouted by some of her fans DO NOT represent her well. If Bethany has stans like these, she does not need any enemies. But I have enough sense to know that Bethany can't pick all of her fans. Maybe she tried out for SB to get some new attention and to attract (more reasonable) supporters who have some sense. Notice I didn't say anything about being Christ-like. Lowered expectations. Sigh.

Nah... no guilt here! I don't hide behind ambiguities and nameless posts. I referred to you BY NAME and yet your response is "I didn't say anybody's name!". Cowardice and passive-aggression is NOT a good look. And Bethany had better not drop the Sunday Best association just yet. Just for kicks, I searched EJ's site here for any and all Bethany references and guess what? All FOUR hits that mention Bethany include Sunday Best? Well how about that? Again, (I hope) Bethany's not to blame for some of the short-sighted posts that look like they're supposed to be defending/protecting her. The question is: protecting her from what, as no one (at least me) hasn't said anything negative about her. Deuces.

Absolutely love both of her albums!! She definitely has a gift and a beautiful voice!
I heard Bethany for the first time on Sunday Best and I am very disappointed that she was not selected to the next level. For me she had the best voice and I am sure she would win this year competition. I think she is to good to compete and don't need the approval of the judges. She shall rise to stardom soon.
