This Tuesday, May 25th, CoCo Brother will release a compilation album, CoCo Brother Live presents Stand 2010 on Tyscot Records. It’s available for pre-order now by clicking here.
One of the songs featured on the project is a cover of the popular song, “Moving Forward,” featuring Joann Rosario Condrey and Tye Tribbett. And I love it!
Aside from the fact that Joann is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated female vocalists and worshippers in gospel music, I’m liking the pairing with Tye Tribbett on this and the arrangement is tight. You don’t have to take my word for it, though… for your listening pleasure, I’ve just added the single to the PunditPlayer.
Just click here to take a listen and lemme know what you think!!!

I LOVE JOANN ROSARIO CONLEY AND THIS ARRANGEMENT!!!!
EJ, Sounds good! I agree that Joann is one of the most underrated. She's also very sweet and approachable. I met her a few years ago when she ministered at my church in Chicago along with her manager, Monica Coates, who was also very gracious.
Sounds good I liked the arrangement. HOWEVER, how many times is this song going to be done? Chris Tomlin, Israel Houghton, Hez Walker, and now Joann & Tye? Is originality dead in gospel music? Maybe that should be an article on this site.
Sorry correction Ricardo Sanchez instead of Chris Tomlin...
Totally agree that Joann is really underrated...... I could do without the Tye on this track tho .... didnt really like the talking and 'whoooooooo' on the song Re- Andrew , you're hilarious.. I agree this song is a bit rinsed. Actually the song was written by Ricardo Sanchez of Freechapel...Freechapel recorded it for their live album as did a host of others..but for me personally I prefer the original version with Ricardo and the Freechapel choir.....
@ Kwartema, I didn't want to comment about Tye, but since you did, lets be honest all he did was talk on the track. That's another thing I am beginning to hate in gospel music, nobody sings anymore, too many artists just talk the whole time on a track while the background singers/choir sing...very disappointing.
@Andrew...Ted Winn also recorded it on his album. I guess it's becoming the new "How Great is Our God." All of the arrangements of the song sound nice to me, including this one. But I understand where you're coming from. @Kwartema..."Rinsed?" I've never heard that usage of the word. It's hilarious! I'm going to steal that from you...LOL
@Mightymouth - re 'rinsed' lol I live in London, UK so its a terminology we use over here for when something has been overused...lol
Nicely done and I also agree about Joann Condrey being underrated and talkers over singers and music really frustrate me because there is so much of it now. Joann has an awesome sound and annoited. Maybe she prefers to be less visible and not interested in really marketing herself . Some artists prefer it that way. Not sure but would like to find out.
@ Kwartema and Mightymouth - I am in Canada, we use the term "rinsed" as well. Ted Winn did this song as well? Oh my this song needs to be retired. LOL.
u know what's interesting, ccm artist cover songs numerous times and no one seems to care. i mean, there are a gazillion versions of lord, i lift your name on high, everlasting god, here i am to worship...etc but when gospel artists cover songs, its frowned upon. interesting dynamic. i guess the focus is different in gospel music. But i will say that i agree Free Chapel's version (the original) is the BEST version i've heard. I "feel" that version more than the others... and the lead singer, Ricardo, aint no crazy hott vocalist. The focus is on lyrics and lyrics alone.
I love Joann Rosario.. I'm more of an urban gospel fan and a fan of harmonies so she gives me what I need. Re the talking over tracks - I was annoyed with it when Kirk Franklin popularized that years ago... It even seems like the "talkers" try to sound like him now. I'm over it.
@ me, I don't like any genre of music covering a song a million times. It shows that the artists of today have NO creativity at all. That's why if you look at all genres of music who are the new upcoming artists that will be legends? You can probably count them on one hand.
God Bless Joanne and I pray she continue to worship HIM out of a pure and sincere heart!!!
I always been a fan of Joann, her voice is smooth and urban.
Okay, not to point him out but you are just talking about Tye in this song and Kirk Franklin in ALL of his songs. Other than this, doesn't everyone else actually sing?????
