Ya Heard?: Isaac Carree's Single – "Simply Redeemed"

Have you guys heard the debut single from Isaac Carree?

Isaac Carree - "Simply Redeemed"It’s an incredibly beautiful song called “Simply Redeemed,” penned by the legendary Tommy Sims and Marc Harris.  If you have Heather Headley’s debut gospel project, you might have heard it there as the opening track.  But don’t be fooled– different voices, different arrangements, different approaches… different songs.

Isaac Carree finesses this song with his own signature style, riffing with the acoustic guitar before building to a rousing vamp.  In my opinion, it’s a tasteful vocal performance that does a great job of introducing him as a solo artist (don’t fear, though– Men of Standard hasn’t disbanded).

Don’t just take my word for it– I’ve just added “Simply Redeemed” to the PunditPlayer!

I wish he would release something else...Brian Courtney Wilson also has released this on his latest project.

I heard it, but was disappointed that it sounded exactly like a version from about 10 years ago. Exactly the same. I can't remember who sings it, I thought it was Christopher Lewis but its not.

I like it, but I think I prefer Tres Gilbert's version. Not too much, just perfect. And not over autotuned! Raw! But Isaac did a good job too.

The guy's execution is just sooooo clean. I would venture to say that he's the most skilled stylist in Gospel music. Not trying to start a war though :) Great solo debut from a guy who has been very visible in the industry for more than 15 years. He's certainly put in his time sowing and serving. I wish you all the best, Isaac. Can't wait to buy it.

I like Isaac's reading but I also love Courtney's reading too! It is such a well written song that I don't think anyone could get it wrong if sung from the heart. I do look forward to his solo project.

The song is beautifully written. However, I must say I wasn't impressed with Isaac Carree's rendition. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. I heard Brian Courtney Wilson's version and it moved me to tears. I'm not sure why it was never released as a single. It's not a competition though. We need to hear about redemption from as many folks that want to sing about it.

LOVE this song. Would really like to hear Marvin Winans take a go at this. Could you IMAGINE! Isaac does a great job; he has a great voice. Gospel music is the best music.

I listened...it didn't do anything for me...too much like other artists. I think Isaac has to set himself apart...I hope he has more success than Men of Standard... although they can SING...they've yet to really break through with a strong hit (or 2)... I know Isaac is a great vocalist & background singer...but great vocalist don't automatically translated into great SOLO artists... for example - Maurette Brown Clarke is not a great vocalist (her voice is not particularly dazzling) BUT... she's a great SOLO artist with hits (and concert dates) to prove it... she has that 'something' that makes her music work! So, will Isaac (or Lowell - who needs to stop doing Commissioned songs)...will they have that 'something'? It remains to be seen! ..... ('....it remains to be seen...' - by Mississippi Mass - remember that song?) LOL....

This is a great song, Isaac Carree voice is smooth.

I too prefer Tres Gilbert’s version. Isaac doesn't infuse any soul in to it he is just singing and not feeling it. I am a fan of Isaac but he does nothing to improve this song.

Both Isaac and Brian are great gifts for the Body of Christ. However, Isaac rendition has a different anointing and I like Isaac rendition better than Brian.

Great point regarding Isaac and Lowell as I consider them to be 2 of the most gifted young gospel vocalist out there, but unfortunately, they have yet to set themselves apart. I do think that Isaac's style and charisma can definitely catapult him into to superstar status. Both men are anointed and very humble. Wishing them both much success!
