On Wednesday, I told you guys that DeWayne Woods’ new album, My Life’s Lyric, would hit stores on June 22nd and that his new single, “I Won’t Be Afraid” would be serviced to radio soon.
Before radio grabs it, though, I figured I’d try to get it for you guys. And I did.
This song is a beautiful declaration of trusting God. I’ve heard the tune before– it was on Ashmont Hill’s debut project… loved their version, but I also love DeWayne’s. He’s got a great voice and he’s put it to a beautiful track, tastefully done and ready for your worship teams!
You don’t have to take my word for it… I’ll let you decide for yourself– I’ve just added the track to the PunditPlayer.
And make sure you lemme know what you think!

beautiful...
This song really showcases the gentleness in his voice. It really showcases his natural voice.
The song has a really nice vamp. It took a while to warm up - there was really no build in the song. It went from start mode to the sky in two verses. I like the vamp part of the song. The first part of it sounds as if he is not connected to it, perhaps someone else wrote it. His ministry appeared in the song in the vamp towards the end when he built it.
In tears over here... 2 thumbs up
*gives stamp of approval* Lawd have Mercy!
awesome!!!!
Great. Love the sound design. Reminds me of Daryl Coley's "You Are My God."
Great track,I love the worship vibe.
Good Job...I think I probably would like it more if I hadn't already been attached to the version by Ashmont Hill, but it def allows you to here a different sound to it!
Beautiful, started slow but really love the strong ending.
Beautiful.... "i wont be afraid cause i know that Your with me.." "You've restored me when i'm weary.."
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUS GOOSEBUMPS!!!!
While this is a beautiful song I find it a little boring.... It has the same progressions as countless other Christian worship songs... With that said, I still think it will go over well with worship teams across the board.. :-)
