The Charts: Phil Tarver Debuts At #4, Marvin Sapp Regains #1 Spot

After Trip Lee’s chart-topping debut last week, Marvin Sapp has regained the #1 chart position on the Gospel Albums chart at Billboard.  Trip Lee follows close behind, though, in the #2 spot.

Also, Phil Tarver, the music director and worship leader of Shekinah Glory Ministry, enters the chart at #4 with his new solo project, Place of Worship.  Congrats!

Umm...this is great and all but I sure hope Darwin shows up on this list next Tuesday. Stop playing around and buy that CD, folks!

@mia_v4c & @ therealpaulcash - I've noticed that album sales wise and even exposurewise ( ie being invited to sing at concerts etc) Darwin Hobbs doesnt seem to be visible and I dont know why cos he can sing and is incredibly annointed...not too sure what the problem is

I have the new Darwin, Dewayne and Lisa Paige-Brooks. I don't know how Dewayne is #6 and Darwin isn't in the top#10. I still can't understand how Dewayne is even a recording artist? (Basic Choir Tenor to me-nothing to get excited about). Darwin's CD is good, it gets dramatic at times, but worth several spins. He still will experience challenges with the Luther Vandross shadow and also his own visible shadow! Don't know much about Phil Tarver, hasn't generated enough interest as of yet.

Yes the production on the Phil Tarver "Place of Worship" was nicely done. I can say it was really unique. I believe it was produced by Herman Little of Ethereal. He and Mike Weatherspoon held it down.

Maybe you should check out his two projects - Draw Nearer and his new one Place of Worship. Go to itunes to get a snipet of the songs. You may have even heard the songs on the radio and did not know it was him his single is Better than that and God Is Able. Thanks for the time/

I'd love to hear your review of Phil Tarver's project.. you seem to have good comments on Darwin and Dewayne's material... you should definitely pick it up, or at least buy the title track and "Warrior Nation"... the whole album may not be number 1 (yet), but GUARANTEED "Warrior Nation" is more progressive than anything you've ever heard lately... for a remnant of God's people!

I had 6 copies of the Phil Tarver Place of Worship cd. It is such a blessing how could you not share and bless others! I love #5, #13, #17, #2...ok I love this project but love going to sleep to God Is Able! Have to blast Walk On The Water in the car. Stay blessed Elder Phil!

It doesn't get any better than this!!! I know "God is able" because He has given me "Unsearchable Riches". How do I know God?... "Because you say so" i am a part of a great "Warrior Nation" and I will "Wait" and "Give Praises" because "Greater is He" that is in me I have the faith to " Walk on the Water" because I "Believe" that God said " Commune with Me" in that "Place of Worship"!!!! AMEN

Place of Worship is any music lovers dream album, rock, soul, grooves, different drums... i love the Phil Tarver feel! (No joke intended! lol.) I also have to say if your going to get LIVE praise and worship you need to get it from Kingdom Records. Shekinah Glory ministries, Phil Tarver and I just got the promo for Tonya Baker. Kingdom has there hand in everything LIVE praise and worship! I look forward to more music from them all.
