Word Has It: GMWA Putting On Finishing Touches

Word has it that the Gospel Music Workshop of America is putting on some great finishing touches for this year’s annual convention, taking place in Cincinnati, OH from July 24-30, 2010.

In addition to all of the musical festivities, there’s the GMWA Serves day of community service event, which was REALLY successful last year and promises to be so again. On Friday, July 23rd at 2pm, in the Duke Energy Center, the GMWA Board will announce its selected service project for the city this year.

At GMWA, there are classes, worship sessions and musicals GALORE, until all hours of the night. Last year, I vividly remember having to take a nap at around 9pm each night JUST to make it through the midnight concerts.

Peep the video below–

Who’s planning to attend any or all of the GMWA events???

Dead@Why! But is this the event that Al "Bishop" Hobbs heads up if so I've never heard anything good about except for what they show on The Word Network.

I was in Cincinnati visiting family and I decided to check out the GMWA Macy concert. Unfortunately I know what Why meant by his/her comments. Unless there are some last minute additions to the nightly musicals and the Macy concert last year's GMWA was better.

I attend gmwa and just like anything else you will always hear and see the negative if you look for it.But, if you are looking for good gospel, and quartet music you'll find it at gmwa. If you're looking for cd's, sheet music, bibles, clothing, shoes, collectibles, you'll also find that too. If you desire a powerful word during the mid-day you can find that also. If you desire to further your education you will find that too. I guess it boils down to what you're looking for, let's be real, if it's the gospel gays mentioned by WHY you don't have to come to gmwa, head to the grocery store or a school, campaign headquarters, football field, basketball court, doctor's office, department store or your local church--you'll also find them there.

Thank you so so much for your comment, GMWA is a wonderful convention. Everything that one would need to know about getting into GOSPEL music can be found at GMWA. I have attended this convention since 1998 and I look forward to going back year after year fellowshipping with the many friends that I have gain through the years. To anyone that maybe thinking about attending GMWA, you are going there to get what ever it is that you need weather it be your church choir, music business, education, spiritual services or just the love of gospel, keep your focus on that and you'll be alright. It's like Denise said WHY gays are every where.

Probably because the only reason the words "gospel" and "gays" should be in the same sentence is when that sentence also includes the words "love", "Jesus", "Calvary", "REPENTence", and "deliverance"
