Word has it that Israel Houghton is set to release his new album on August 31st, titled Love God. Love People.
The 12-track project features guest vocals from Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond and Take 6. He’s also co-written a few tracks with wife Meleasa, Tommy Sims, Aaron Lindsey and Michael Gungor. The album was recorded at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios (hence the visual homage to the Beatles’ Abbey Road album).
According to Israel, “Love God. Love People. is a return to a simple, foundational Gospel command: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself.”
The full track listing for the project is as follows:
1. Love God Love People
2. Yahweh (The Lifter)
3. Love Rev
4. That’s Why I Love You
5. Others
6. You Hold My World
7. You Won’t Let Me Go
8. Our God
9. Mercies (feat. Kirk Franklin)
10. Surprises (feat. Fred Hammond)
11. Name of Love
12. Hosanna (Be Lifted Higher) (feat. Take 6)
Sounds niiiiiice! Okay, talk to me– who’s pickin’ it up?!

I am a HUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGEEEEEE! Israel fan. I will be picking this up on the day it drops.
YES! I shall be buying without hesitation.
***Rrrrruunnnssss in jumping up and down and clapping*** Yayyyy!!!!! You already know I'm getting it! :-) EJ, may I speak freely? I sorta would be ok if you (or any gospel music bloggers) didn't post anything non-Bishop Walter Hawkins related until after next week's homegoing celebrations.... In fact, I really think there should be a moratorium on any tweets about new tracks, releases, blah, blah blah, etc. I know people gotta eat, but I'm saying, the gospel music industry should sit shivah in honor of the passing of the gospel music legacy...at least a day or two.... His passing has affected me more than I expected. I sometimes have delayed reactions over things. Sigh.... Thanks. Ok... Yay again for the new Israel CD!
YES!!!!!! I will be at the nearest Wal-Mart or Target to pick this cd up on 08/31/10!!!!!!!!! Thanks for th heads up!
That is just retarted, he is not a GOD, yes he impacted the Gospel industry, but why do we as bloggers, need to not pst anything non walter hawkins related. Just plain stupid. and show how christian you are, are u more in to walter hawkins than GOD?
Whoaaaaa.... Ok... I'm gonna skip ^^^that^^^ because I don't want to smash emotions and flawed intellect like I could. I know my Lord would not be pleased if I did that. I will say that I recognize that the gospel music bloggers have been very respectful and honorable with the various tributes on their respective websites and life certainly has to move on. Hopefully sound-minded folk will see that I was having an intense moment of mourning. It had NOTHING to do with idolizing anyone or making them a demi-god. I suppose that if I were to ever start my own blog, I could do what I want to do, right? Right.... So hopefully we're all clear, for the good of the order. Amen.
WHATTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait will be picking this up for sure.
Will be picking up the CD as soon as it drops. Israel's music always blesses. Saw Israel & New Breed in concert last month (awesome worship experience), and he previewed one of the songs from the upcoming album - Hosanna - simple but powerful!
I love Israel's music but I'll have to preview before I buy. Tam Tam I feel were you're coming from his death hit me hard as well because I had no idea he was sick, but Ej and other sites have a job to do and they all have done a wonderful job in honoring Bishop Hawkins, but we have to move forward I'm sure that's how the Hawkins family and Bishop Bawkins would want it.
Can't wait! I'm super excited about the Take 6 inclusion here. Yessssss...
I'm on it!
I will be buying this!
Thanks. I appreciate the understanding. And I concur with your points.
I will definitely pick this up!
Most likely I will be getting his new album. Thanks for this post.
me me me! Love Israel!
Yes! I will! I am realy feeling that cover as well!!
Will buy despite that cover art.
Israel is proving to make an indeliable mark in the gospel music industry. This next effort sounds as if he is solidfying "beyond forward". I like that his songs are so classic and appeal to every demographic. I will definitely be getting this one.
Most definitely/awesome worship from Israel and with the guest artists, going to be great.
will be on Itunes that day getting this cd. Im still loving Alive in South Africa and The Power of One.
You knew you didnt have to ask who/ if we were buying it EJ! !! C'mon NAH! Lol! I believe that Israel always sings songs that we can all co-sign. Definitely a worshipper's project that I'll buy each time he offers a new one!
okay so I LOVE Isreal, honestly, I have mixed feelings about the ' 'beatles' ?tribute re: the cover, given how "anit God they were' but i refrain from being "religious" knowing isreal's mad cool, so I guess it's like takin it back from the devil cuz they recorded in Abbey Road, so I'm DEF lookin forward to it!
I wished Isreal did his research before paying homage to the Beatles who were deeply involved in the occult.
AWESOME!!! Israel Houghton has some of the greatest P & W songs. He never lets me down and I'm sure this album will be just as great!
I've heard 8 of the songs from the album and can assure you that this is definitely a different album than what Iz has given us before, and that there is something on it for everyone. I'll leave the reviews for when it comes out, but I'll definitely be buying my copy on 8/31!
I'm with Christine I'ma have to preview the album 1st cos I didnt like his last solo effort.... I much rather prefer him with New Breed ...
I will pick it up. London, Abby Road, I get it! .I like the cover, it's simple, not like some of the covers I've seen lately...ugh!!
I'm definitely going to pick up Israel's new project! Actually, I'm going to check and see if I can pre-order it! He's been such an inspiration and encouragement to my life & ministry as a worship leader. He's surely one artist that I can say I've yet to be disappointed by any of his albums. And I'm definitely looking forward to what more he has in store for us listeners.
Just picked up the record! This is a winner!!!!!!!!! Israel, Aaron Lindsey, & Tommy Sims are a great team!
