Booooooo!!! Sorry– just had to vent first. *clearing my throat*
Apparently, after a successful four-season run, The Word Network has canceled The Lexi Show, the hard-hitting interview program created and hosted by Lexi.
No reason for the cancellation was announced, but Lexi has expressed that she is “overwhelmed with the unbelievable number of letters, phone calls and e-mails” in support of the program.
Even better– she’s NOT giving up on the program… she hopes to have a new television home for The Lexi Show soon.
In the meantime, you can watch older episodes at her YouTube channel– http://www.youtube.com/lexitelevision.
*glares over at The Word Network* I dunno WHAT else y’all plan to put in place of her show, but I’m a benefit-of-the-doubt type of guy… let’s see what you’ve got.
What do you all think? Is this good? Bad? Gone too soon? Couldn’t have been soon enough?
Let’s hear it!

Not good at all. They should not cancel it. She has done well to hold it down for 4 seasons.
Interesting to say the least. That Tonex interview put Lexi's show on a broader scale (gave her wider visibility--beyond the Black church circuit) and NOW they cancel it? Unless it's for a financial reason (it's cheaper to just sell blocks of time to various ministries/churches versus producing a show), it must be something political...or dumb.
Not good. I like the lexi show. I hope the show gets picked up by another network.
@ Tam Tam your probably right its more cheaper to just sell blocks of times to churches and ministries but im becoming very dissapointed with alot of these gospel networks because i feel like they dont showcase enough gospel. I mean i did enjoy gospel music channel but now they've gotten ridiculous with all of these show re-runs and dr quinn or whatever it is. the word network i was never to fond of it anyway because the quality is not that great i feel like....The Lexi Show was too big of a show for that network and that it she be produced on a large scale. I dont understand y cant we get shows like VH1, BET, and MTV but in an christian aspect. Im confused I dont think ill be tuning in The Word Network anymore that was the only show I watched and ocassionally bobby jones gospel artist retreat thing....LEXI WE WISH YOU LUCK AND HOPE YOU GET PICKED UP ELSEWHERE but if a tv network dont pick you up there's still always youtube
ooo ooo ooo i got an idea lol BET should pick it up and replace Lift Every Voice with The Lexi Show im sorry ever since Gerard Henry left that show it has been womp womp womp...dont get me wrong i think CoCo Brother is good just not on that platform
Really sorry to hear that because she did some great interviews. She always kept it real. While on YouTube I stumbled on some of her music videos and had to dust off my old somewhere different album. I forgot how HOT that album and dvd was. I would not be mad if this little transition period gives her some time to do another album.
Sorry to hear this!! We are featuring her on the cover of a new issue of our magazine. I don't want to do anything unethical on the site so I won't post it here. But I and the mag supports her 100%. She is awesome and an incredible worshipper....whoooa! No worries...as a woman of faith...God's got her!!!
I agree BET should allow LEXI to do her show there. She was the only one to really ask truthful questions no matter who the person was. We need more people that are bold. Some people may say she is being nosey but i disagree. Some people sugar coat things because they are in awe of the persons gifts and talent so much so that they forget to ask important questions. SHe was real and it was a bad decision. We need a person to get past the gifts and the shock of being in the room with the actual person and get down to the guts. We need to find out how these people are relatable and what their REAL TESTIMONY IS. Im done lol!s
I really enjoyed her show so I am very disappointed to hear about the cancellation. I am seeing more and more informercials on The Word Network and more bootleg ministries than I care to see. There are so many wonderful live concert videos that the channel could showcase. Lately, watching the Word Network has convinced me that every ministry should not be seen on TV.....never....ever....lol
@ Novella I totally agree with you.
Wow, this is beginning to get old. These good shows being cancelled like this. I looked forward to her show. It will be interesting to see who picks it up. I hope someone does. World Network's loss!
LMBO @ "bootleg ministries"! Too funny...
This is wrong, I am a huge fan of the Lexi Show. Maybe she should try with TVone and request to be apart of the Sunday evening lineup
This was the best season she's had, and hers was probably the only show that i watched on the Word Network. I'm very disappointed with the network's decision. Lexi is hilarious, which I discovered when she did her YouTube show and when she interviewed that one crazed, sexist pastor. She asked bold questions of Tonex and Bishop Weeks ("Are you guys already married?" Awesome sauce!). She brought me to tears with her interview with Rev. Timothy Wright's sons. She reintroduced us to Bishop Pearson and showed us his humanity for those who had reviled him in an ungodly manner. I think Lexi presented to and for the Gospel community an intelligent and meaningful platform; without it, we will be sorely lacking (with the exception of gospelpundit.com, of course). EJ, I'm just mad.
In all reality, BET should be the logical home for Lexi and may be the logical choice for a replacement for Dr. Bobby Jones once he retires.
This is not a surprise to me. I loved the show, especially after this season because it really got real, but a churchy channel like the Word Network isn't trying to engage in that type of controversy. They are the ones losing out though.
Lexi may do much better by going out on her own, meaning that she not wait for offers from other networks but produce the show on her own and post the shows on YouTube and gain popularity that way until a network picks up her show--similar to self-publishing/producing your own book, CD, etc. BET's ownership has not demonstrated any interest or integrity in producing any kind of quality (gospel) shows. (Google the banned episode of The Boondocks to get an interesting perspective on BET's agenda for Black America). Even though my church used to broadcast on The Word Network, I really don't watch it. My church was kicked off the channel in May so I really don't watch it now. Plus the reception for the channel (without cable) is weak at best.
You are sooo right!! My husband and I was just talking about how we used to be able to turn the Word Network on and get some really good preaching, etc...now you turn it on and you get other folks on their and infomercials...come on now!!
I liked the show and it's sad that they cancelled it hopefully she will get picked up by other network. And the Word Network never really promoted her right they were always promoting the bigger name preachers that bought in the biggest ratings and the most money. Lexi and Bishop Charles H. Ellis III were the only reasons i watched the network
I love that show, it should be canceled.
Why did you all like the lexi show? "it was real, she was real, it was the truth, it was anointed or it was enlightening and informative? How about it was undercover Gossip? With all do respect her show gave the body of Christ more of a black eye than an avenue to Christ to win souls which is what the word network represents. Yeah i watch the tonex interview the show helped him more than hurt him spread his agenda. The Carlton Pearson interview was also ok but again why did we like her show? If her show didn't have controversial interviews it would be another praise the lord episode on TBN which we wouldn't watch but because we, us you and I love the dirt the he said she said Bee Bee beat me, I am gay, inclusion is the right way all the waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy down to Tony smith and I do mean down. We like it. Now we want to push it to BET What if the show just wasnt that good?
pt 2 We all watched the toney interview, we all watched the Carlton Pearson mini series, we watched the Tony Smith interview and the Bee Bee winans ex-wife interview. The Cooper temple interview didn't have any contrversy how many of you watched that one? Last point Lexi paid 0.00 to be on the Word Network
I do see your point, Jay. It did tend to only bring light to subjects that would be deemed gossip. But I disagree that the topics are not relevant to the Body of Christ. From Tonex's coming out to Bishop Pearson's dangerous "inclusion" doctrine; these are all subjects that deserve some scrutiny from a Godly perspective. Many times I did not agree with Lexi's position but I respected her boldness to bring it out. All Christian TV can't be ministry and singing. Shows have to be diverse as well as be able to bring in ad revenues for its station. I hope all that support Lexi with words will be willing to support her with actions and dollars once she gets a new venue by purchasing products and services advertised on her show and by the network. Folk always complaining when shows are taken off air...but are you REALLY supporting or giving lip service. SUPPORT GOSPEL PROGRAMMING and there will be more of it.
Just hope they don't put it on Sunday at 12pm wherever it is....I have DVR now, but you know what I mean....when everybody is in church!
Why was the show canceled? Two words, "Tony Smith."
Blame Youtuber, Chevytheplayer, for her show's cancellation. Ask Chevytheplayer why she got canned. Hopefully, Chevytheplayer is not viewing gay porn videos and can answer you guys promptly.
