Goodies: Great Throwback Video of "Peace Be Still"

Found this little nugget on YouTube this morning and I thought “come on, now, doc! That’s alright!” (churchy)

It’s James Cleveland performing “Peace Be Still” with a choir that’s doin’ the doggone thing (check for the sopranos). I’m lovin’ this–

Whatcha think?

I just watched it again...The sopranos are hitting those notes!!! You mean "one" soprano -Cleo Kennedy formerly of Dorothy Love Coates Group in Alabama. She was his dominant Soprano that sang in Southern California Community Choir and the James Cleveland Singers.

I give props to Thomas Whitefield's production on "Whenever the Lord says Peace" for Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Bro. Cleveland respected Whitefield's arrangement enough to use it during his live performances. Whitefield really updated "Peace Be Still" and made it fresh for a new generation at that time. When you get an established artist incorporating your version of his song into his orginal, that is saying something!!!
