she paved the way not only for the "singing stars" she discovered, i.e.-james cleveland, shirley caesar, inez andrews, josephine howard, deloris washington, dorothy norwood, but for the singers and musicians of today. she traveled the road unsung, traveled and slept in cars, dodging klu klux klan territory, supported other talented artists, an was a true pioneer of the gospel music industry as a whole. great great great is your reward!!
Albertina Walker wll be greatly missed. A legendary gospel icon of our time indeed. A humble, gifted singer whom founded the infamous Caravans, and with her music ministry launched the careers of many of the most formidable gospel sngers in the world! There is a term for such a successful building foundation .... an empire. Therefore I will always consider Albertina Walker The Empress of The Golden Age of Gospel Music. For out of her music ministry came many! God Bless her life, and legacy. God ... thanks for just loaning her to us for a little while. (smile)
Albertina Walker did what GOD wanted her to do; sing his praises to the nations to win lost souls to Christ our Lord. SHE DID JUST THAT. My condolences to her family. Be strong family in trusting GOD to give you strength to press on to finish the course,keep the faith.GOD BLESS YOU.

I grew up with the Queen of Gospel Albertina Walker and the Caravans>Women who stood the test of time.Ms.Albertina Walker ministered in song everywhere she went and was a Blessing. Take your rest. May the family be strong and look to God.
