The Charts: LeCrae Still Tops Billboard Gospel Chart

It’s week 3 of gospel hip-hop artist Lecrae’s reign at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart.  Kudos to ya!

In fact, Billboard’s top 5 positions remain the same as last week, so kudos to all of ya.

The top 10 slots are as follows:

#1 | LecraeRehab
#2 | Israel HoughtonLove God. Love People.
#3 | Brian Courtney WilsonJust Love
#4 | Mavis StaplesYou Are Not Alone
#5 | Marvin SappHere I Am
#6 | VaShawn MitchellTriumphant
#7 | Shekinah Glory MinistryRefreshed By Fire
#8 | WOW Gospel 2010
#9 | Myron WilliamsThankful
#10 | William McDowellAs We Worship: Live

Myron Williams sits at #9 with his new project, Thankful, which jumped #26, where it debuted last week. Interesting to see how far it climbs.  VaShawn Mitchell jumped from #8 to #6 this week, while WOW Gospel went from #7 to #8, with Shekinah Glory taking the #7 spot from last week’s #6. Just some musical chairs…

With new releases this week from Tye Tribbett, Wess Morgan and Joe Pace, I’m expecting a bit of a shake-up on the charts next week.  We’ll see…

What do you think?

I love looking at the charts as I am a HUGE Brian Courtney Wilson fan. He seems to be a quiet storm that keeps on brewing in the gospel mix. So glad to see his CD still among the top. Looking forward to new music from him.

See this as a statement... There is a rumbling going on in the black church and the "reformed" view of Christianity is soon going to surpass and hopefully suppress the broken theology that's being spewed from Platforms and Pulpits. Lecrae is leading the charge on this movement under the tutelage of John Piper. It's not about blessings and benefits from God or "life speaking/best life" stuff it's solely about the Cross and Jesus... and I'm glad Lecrae and his camp are getting a chance to get this message out there. Hope he stays unaffected by the new releases coming. Just to make the point stronger. Will do my part by going and buying the album 2 more times!

i AGREE. EVER SINCE I'VE STARTED LISTENING TO LECRAE I'VE NOTICED THAT HIS MUSIC IS ABOUT GOD ALONE. I LOVE THE MESSAGE...ITS NOT ABOUT THE ARTIST OR THE MUSIC OR THE BEATS....ITS ALL ABOUT THE ONE WHO THE SONG IS MADE ABOUT. REHAB IS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG BEYOND MEANS
