Word Has It: Trin-I-Tee 5:7 Becomes A Duo

JUST IN!!!

Word has it that gospel group Trin-i-tee 5:7 will no longer be a trio, as Adrian Anderson (pictured far left) will be leaving the group to pursue other opportunities.  Anderson, who joined original members Chanelle and Angel in 2000, will be focusing on the launch of her new beauty company, Halo Tu Beauty.

There’s no drama to report on this, folks– just a change in seasons.

The group’s upcoming project, A New Day, will be released on Music World Gospel soon.  Let’s wish all of the ladies well as they move forward!

Oh wow. ...never had the impression she was ever that comfortable in the group anyways and to be honest she was barely vocally heard on any songs ..Chanelle and Angel always overshadowed her. Wish her all the best in all her endeavours and hopefully she'll keep singing.....

That is definitely not a surprise. I remember seeing them a few years back and as they performed their appeared to be a slight disconnect. Much success to all of them.

Well I am surpised. I wish Adrian all the best. Hopefully Angel & Chanelle can find another replacement.

What are u talking about?,this group has sold over 2.5 million albums in USA and there last one T57 was certified platinum, sold even more than MaryMary's "the sound".The reason U don hear them a lot among the gospel community is coz there are not a member of the Stellar awards board, which publicizes a lot of artists who dont even sell that much. All the best 4 them.

Sigh.... Reading is fundamental. If you had CAREFULLY read my initial post, you would see that I DID NOT define "higher levels of popularity" by RECORD SALES. This would have been an excellent question to ask: "Tam, what's your definition of higher levels of popularity?" My answer would have not (necessarily) included record sales, but would have also included collaborations with other artists, appearances on various shows, events, etc. Also, Mary Mary is not the only "gospel" girl group around. But since you mentioned them, what criteria would make them a/the most popular gospel girl group? Record sales alone or other things? It would be VERY USEFUL for you to get more information before citing numbers that might not be relevant so that it would demonstrate that you knew what YOU were talking about.

@ Tam: I agree with you about her seeming to be in a different space. And not just on Monique's show, but just in general. I've been with them countless of times and she has always handled herself & treated situations very differently. Not that the other ladies were or are any less poised, but she just has something else working for her...I wish all 3 of them the best! Being popular? I believe they are very much so, not just in record sales...but where it counts. If you (not YOU in particular, generally speaking) followed their career, you can see that the "hooplah" surrounding them kind of simmered down over the the past FEW years. But they have a good mark in music/popularity. Just my opinion & observations. Having HIGHER popularity? That could be a different conversation for another day. Lol

@ busy04: I see your point. I also see that since some of US (us including me) may be tripping over the term "popularity", replace that word with this one: VISIBILITY. I think a distinction can be made that while T57's record sales may surpass other gospel girl groups who have MORE/HIGHER/GREATER VISIBILITY, I wonder how/why that happens.... Again, I have my ideas about it....

  • busy04 wrote on October 18, 2010

"MORE/HIGHER/GREATER VISIBILITY, I wonder how/why that happens...." I'm sure I'd be directed to stand in the stoning line if my thoughts about it are spoken...oh well! I do understand where you're coming from.

*grabs popcorn and patiently waits for y'all to break and say what's on your minds* LOL! Say it already!

Hey, busy04: seeing as how pretty much any post I make here seems to follow with several negative minus thumb downs (or numerous thumbs down)--regardless of the validity of the point... ...I'm going to say my peace ANYHOW!!!! LOLLLL!!!!! Take that, HATERS! The truth sets and keeps me FREEEEE! Basically, I think that T57 made some strategic choices early on in their duo/trio career in which they set a (higher) standard for their music and their associations. I think that offers were made down through the years that would/could have given them greater exposure/visibility but they decided that, based on godly principle, to decline. I think they recogized that there's a LIMIT to where to go and how to reach souls for the Lord. They weighed the cost of certain things and they decided that the cost wasn't worth their gospel music integrity. ***stands boldly in the cut***

HAHAHA!!! you're ridiculous! let these people alone, tam!

  • queenessie1 wrote on October 18, 2010

As i had pointed out, they are popular but tactful with their associations with other gospel artists and industry in general(e.g like dropping 4rm the stellar awards association) which kinda decreases their visibility, but i will point out that this group seems to have a very professional and tactful management team behind their career which has opened enormous doors for them including in the secular world which other artists can only dream. The Mary's on the other hand are both popular and visible such that they interact a lot within the gospel industry itself and with other gospel artists.I also think that their personalities have pushed them this far whereas Trinitee might be lacking that because the industry is 50% PERSONALITY,not just a good voice.Virtue are a good group but they did not get the visibility and push they needed from their team but hopefully we will see an improvement in their next project. All other girl groups aren't on the same level with the above

  • queenessie1 wrote on October 18, 2010

I think @Tamy's point is,the industry is not only about good music and sales. One thing i think has pushed the Mary's to get the visibility they have is apart from a good team is their PERSONALITIES but on the other hand when we look at Trinitee 5:7,we dont really know this ladies that well and that might have affected their interactions even in the gospel Industry itself, but they do have a very good team behind them which has really propelled their career and i also think that their target audience is not churches/christians but more of the secular world. This is entirely a PERSONALITY ISSUE.

This is one of my fave female gospel groups besides virtue. I can't help but still wish that it had worked out with the other original member. I liked the deepness to her voice. I know Adrian will do well and she seems very sweet. I will say that I didn't care for her voice much, but that's just me. Chanel and Angel have both grown a LOT vocally since they debuted and I'm interested in their new effort.

I love it...got my popping corn too!

  • ladydpierce wrote on October 18, 2010

I'm not sure why this decision or how far T57 has or has not gone has got to do with the favor of Mary Mary??

  • Tam wrote on October 18, 2010

You might want to direct your question to the poster who INITIALLY brought them up. And it wasn't me.

  • Tam wrote on October 18, 2010

But EJ!!! You see what's happening, right? You already have 3 positive thumbs up for calling me ridiculous! Augh!!!! LOL! Check the record. I don't have to do a COWARDLY negative thumb click on a post ANONYMOUSLY to put somebody down as a way to exert my power. That's called HUMILITY UNDER CONTROL. I'm secure in mine. ;-) If I don't like what a person posted (respectfully disagree with an opinion) or how one said it (out of pocket with the disrespect), I will post it DIRECTLY to the person, with my NAME ON IT! That's how I stay FREE!

I wish them all the best. HOWEVER I think Jessica Reedy, Faith and Kelly Price should stay together as a group ( I know wishful thinking, but if the secular world had Keith Sweat, Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill a girl can hope). They had the best "Female Group" sound together I have heard in a long time. Esp for them each to be such strong leads! But that is just my humble opinion.

No offense to Adrian that left, but this is great news to me. She hardly ever sing to begin with, but I don`t mean that in a bad way. Angel and Chanelle are going to do just fine as a duo, their voices are amazing. I am looking forward to their new cd,I hope they have more worship songs like on their previous cd`s and not just have that contemporary sound throughout the whole record. Nevertheless, I am sure they are going to do just fine as a duo. I hope and pray that Adrian is successful in other opportunities.

    I'm sorry....I thought I was. It's all love :-)

Tam, I would love to know your ideas as to why you think they never got to a higher level of popularity as similar groups. Thank you.

"Reading is Fundamental" is the mark of a Troll. You can switch up, flip flop, and sprinkle pseudo-religious lip service wherever you please, doesn't make your comments seem any less rude, or pressed. You don't come off "free", you come off insecure and e-thuggish.
