The Charts: VaShawn Mitchell’s TRIUMPHANT Climbs To #2

Powered by his hit single, “Nobody Greater,” and on the heels of receiving two GRAMMY nods, VaShawn Mitchell has soared to #2 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart this week.

Also making great sales gains this week was William McDowell, whose As We Worship: Live jumped from #7 to #3.

The rest of the Top 10 shakes out like this…

#1 | LeCraeRehab
#2 | VaShawn MitchellTriumphant
#3 | William McDowellAs We Worship: Live
#4 | Marvin SappHere I Am
#5 | Brooklyn Tabernacle ChoirA Brooklyn Tabernacle Christmas
#6 | Tye TribbettFresh
#7 | WOW Gospel 2010
#8 | Mavis StaplesYou Are Not Alone
#9 | Israel HoughtonLove God. Love People.
#10 | Brian Courtney WilsonJust Love

I think these will be the key players in the Top 10 for the rest of the year… don’t know of any new releases due before January that would trouble the waters…

But maybe VaShawn will hit #1 before the year’s out…

Whatd’ya think???

Isn't it amazing how a move from Chicago to Atlanta did for VaShawn. Has Chicago lost its spark? Hmmmmmmm.

I'm happy for Vashawn, and I hope that he does make it to number one before the year is out...let me go buy another copy of this cd real quick...LOL

@matthew5and9 I think Vashawn could have moved to Alaska and his project would still be doing the same thing lol. It really has nothing to do with location to me, it has more to do about the power of a HIT song and of course God's favor. Also his other projects were on a different label, but the biggest factor is still Nobody Greater is just a big song. Ultimately, it's just his season right now.

I'm with Kevon429. "Nobody Greater" is really, REALLY a HUGE SONG! I think people tend to forget how important it is to include a HIT SINGLE on your project. "Nobody Greater" is doing for Vashawn what "Stand" did for Donnie McClurkin...and I anticipate that his follow up will be similar to the greatness of "Live in London" as well!

Nobody Greater is a phenomenal song. I sing it during worship at church, at home and on the job. Alaska....hmmmmmmm, lol. It is undoubtedly his season after having previous releases, there are a lot of changes for Mitchell: new location, new church, new label, national recognition and a HIT song. Every church will and is singing material off this cd. If his follow-up is as great as "Live in London" (the best ever Donnie cd), we're in for a treat.

I don't think VaShawn's physical move has anything to do with this amazing piece of work. It's all about the GOD move in his life. I love VaShawn's spirit and the work ethic he brings to his projects. Everyone should do themselves a favor and make it a point to see him perform live.

VaShawn cd is amazing. It is very encouraging to me. I bought his Triumphant cd and his music book cd. My family and I watch his DVD every time we get the chance. I play his cds in my car, my home and at work. I see God's favor all over Vashawn. He waited for his time and his his term. My favorite songs on the cd are No body is greater, It is not your time but your term, His blood still works and my worship is for real. Bottom line, I love the whole cd period. Thanks, Bendu
