I am not sure about this, it has a funky tune with great lyrics. However the whole thing about "doing big with the annoying background is not good at all. This is going to take A LOT getting use to, I prefer their first single.

I like the message, I get it! Love it! It's very different for them, but it's still nice.

I guess they are catering for the younger generation...This is for RJGroove and the KIngdom Party....LOL

I can appreciate the song being unique and I like the message/lyrics. Overall though, I just don't like the song. Not my taste - couldn't really get into it.

So far, both of their songs have sounded like copied re-hashes of current secular artists. Their first single, "Walking" is the same as T.I.'s "Why You Wanna". Now this song "Something Bigger" is very much like Black Eyed Peas "I'mma Be" just slightly faster. I guess I shouldn't be surprised after "God In Me" was Jamie Foxx's "Blame It On the Alchohol" Part 2 but I wish artists would be more creative and original.

Mary Mary is a CONTEMPORARY gospel group and they always have been - so let's not forget that; this is how they do and have always done it! I love how they keep pushing the levels on our comfort levels. I actually like the song... The lyrics are definitely on point.

I so agree with GospelLover 100% I do appreciate MaryMary for their contemporary music but lately they been jocking everybody style instead of being original its hot for gospel cuz we dont have this but it do seem like Warryn study the mainstream artist who are on the charts and copies their style there's nothing original about this song once I heard it I was like this sound like a Black Eye Peas song! Even God In Me mimicked the whole TPain sound if u didnt know you would probably have thought T-Pain was featured on the song....i guess it works for them I think they trying to make this Something Big joint another mainstream hit like God In Me....i do feel like their dumbing down their vocals they are true singers so showcase it!!!!

its fine, but the 'ima b' sounds like a secular sound i've heard on the radio so i may not listen to this one alot like walking, but i always support them.

Who or what is this unto? Does it glorify, God and the way of peace, or the world and the way of the world and confusion? Please? Have mercy grace and truth.

I love the beat. It is absolutely a modern, contemporary, hip-hop focused song. Am I going to use it for praise & worship? Probably not. But, not every song by a gospel group has to have that affect. If every song was traditional in the lyrics or melody, gospel would be boring and stagnant. I love the creativity and the energy--I can't wait for the CD.

Gosel Lover.... Intuition by Jamie Fox was Released December 16, 2008 "Blame It" was released Friday February 25, 2009. Meanwhile.....The Sound by Mary Mary which featured "God In Me came" out October 21, 2008, so if anyone "copied" anyone, it would be the other way around. Also, "Walking" contains a sample from Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman (youtube it), which means TI was nowhere in the mind of the producer when the song was created. Just want everyone to have the facts before they offer their opinions One thing I love about Mary Mary is that they have been trendsetters from the start. From Shackles, to In The Morning, to Yesterday....their sound has always been one that bridges the gab between the gospel and mainstream. I think this is good healthy discussion, but again, I just wanted to make sure all participants had the correct facts :) God bless S

Um, thank you Bro. Steve. It is always good to be in the "know" when having certain discussions. You beat me to it :)

Being that warryn campbell is one of the lead hip-hop producers, he's going to use the same sound for marymary. I expect songs like this from them now. They've drifted into more of an inspiration r&b sound.

I love it!! Good job Mary Mary. My desire for 2011 is Doing it Big for 2011, this songs falls right in place.

OMG Thank you IamSteveJones! As far as the song I love it. Lyrically it is so on point. I would hope you try it again if you were not feeling it

Not really liking this one, but I think the young folks will enjoy it. As long as it has God at the center, I have no problems with diverse styles of music. This one is just not for me, but I thoroughly love MaryMary!

im at a complete loss.. its like theyre are trying to justify supposedly aiming theyre music towards the world rather than actually aiming their music to the world.. :-|

  • GospelLover wrote on January 22, 2011

T.I. or Crystal Waters....it's still copied and nothing original which is still the point. As far as "God In Me", okay, I will stand corrected on that one. Thank you.

  • Brom wrote on January 22, 2011

I love this single, and I cannot wait for the release on March 29. It is a catchy track, not traditional, but it's always nice to have a little variety! Love Mary Mary :)

  • noxid wrote on January 23, 2011

I'm sorry but please do your research... Blame it came out Jan. 2009 . . . Mary Mary came out with "God In Me" November 2008 according to wikipedia and other sites. "walking" did not originally come from T.I song, more like sampled from Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) . and if that's wrong. Kirk Franklin samples A LOT! Nothing wrong with it. There's nothing new under the sun. Its more about the message at the end of the day.

  • noxid wrote on January 23, 2011

Clearly you didn't listen to the words. They are trying to get a message across to people like you that you don't have to limit your vision, music, anything you do for Christ. DO IT BIG! Great timing for this song. Because the secular is coming with w/ demonic music, giant devils etc and snatching the kids brains and you expect us to just stay small, we need to do it big and get the minds and souls for Christ, draw attention towards Christ w/ our gifts.

  • noxid wrote on January 23, 2011

im at a complete loss w/ your comment. lol

If you really think about it...everything has been done. If you listen to gospel and turn the radio on now.. ALL the "praise and worship" songs/melodies sound the same.. but nothing is said because its the "gospel sound" ..people can shout, dance, cry to it. Marvin Sapp "never would have made it" and " the best in me" sounds the same but are great songs. All christian songs to me sound the same. But once someone does something totally different as far as gospel... it's a problem..Clark Sisters has sampled, stole/ borrowed from secular for a lot of songs such as "You Brought The Sunshine" (Stevie Wonder)... Kirk Franklin, when he began going more urban he was talked about.. now people love him and his music. But he samples the mess out of songs (and I have no problem w/ it) Stomp, Lovely Day, Looking For You are all old school songs. And no telling, some of the songs that seem original may have been inspired by secular artist/songs. Go all the way back to Walter Hawkins, Andre Crouch, they brought a new sound back in the day... they were inspired by music PERIOD, even the secular. But were missing the big picture.. who cares about where the sound came from.. as long as its great and the message is powerful and great. What do you think God is worried about? The SOUND or thw MESSAGE?

  • thisguy wrote on January 24, 2011

okay everybody, listen... everything a christian artist does isn't necessarily for your praise team to regurgitate on sunday, or your liturgical dancers, or the solo before the sermon. if it sounds like black eyed pease [which it does], OKAY. people who don't go to your church are listening to black eyed peas; that means they're doing something right. if mary mary made music solely for church people, they'd LITERALLY be preaching to the choir. "i won't complain" or "walk around heaven" or "i do worship" might not fly on secular stations where MM can reach people who might not have otherwise heard them. i really thought we got over this in like '96 with kirk franklin. dear mary mary, do you. it takes me a minute sometimes, but i generally come around whenever you present something new. long as whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, you do it well. -A
