Christian hip-hop reigns atop the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, with last week’s release of rap artist Flame’s latest album, Captured. The project debuted at #1!
Not far behind him is chart mainstay Lecrae, with his Rehab project, at #2. Bear in mind, he drops his quick follow-up, Rehab: The Overdose, on January 11th.
Also, props to William McDowell for climbing to #3 with his 2009 release, As We Worship: Live! It may take a while, but look at God!
Beyond that, the top 10 looks like this:
#1 | Flame – Captured
#2 | Lecrae – Rehab
#3 | William McDowell – As We Worship: Live
#4 | VaShawn Mitchell – Triumphant
#5 | James Fortune & FIYA – I Believe: Live
#6 | Israel Houghton – Love God. Love People.
#7 | Marvin Sapp – Here I Am
#8 | Level 3:16 – Level 3:16
#9 | Tye Tribbett – Fresh
#10 | WOW Gospel 2010

Pure Chard domination by Lecrae and his crew... seems to me the music buying base have grown tired of the "same ol' same ol" in gospel music, and are migrating towards stuff with REAL substance! Good to see actual Biblical messages rising to the top... Off to buy Flame's new stuff! ~God Bless
So are you saying the "same ol same ol" Gospel doesn't have substance? Just asking............
