Kirk Franklin, Smokie Norful, Deitrick Haddon Added To Dove Awards Performers

Ok, this is getting unreal.

Kirk Franklin, Smokie Norful, Deitrick Haddon, have been added to the roster of performers on the 42nd Annual Dove Awards, which will be taped in Atlanta, GA on April 20th.

These additions come after last week’s announcement that we’d see Lecrae and Committed hitting the stage.

And THAT announcement followed the initial announcement that the show would feature performances from artists like Mary Mary and Marvin Sapp.  And Sherri Shepherd is hosting the thing!

We’ve not seen this many… *ahem*… “familiar”-looking folks on the Dove Awards in quite some time.  I’m loving the diversity. I feel embraced. ;-)

Now, you’d BETTER be watchin’, fam– it airs Easter Sunday, April 24th, at 8pm/7pm, exclusively on gmc.

I love the Doves so I'll defiantly be watching, but I'm glad they are putting more "familiar" faces on the show too. Like how you phrased that EJ.

I really believe that "Forever Jones" will really really impress if they are able to perform. I think that all "New Artist" nominees will get a chance to sing a little of their most popular song. They have the sound that is great for both audiences.

Glad to see Deitrick Haddon getting a slot on the Doves!!! Definitely a larger number of black Gospel artists on there this year. To me they've done a good job of being diverse in the past as well. Now when an artist like Jeremy Camp performs or even gets mentioned at all on the Stellars...THAT will be something!
