Peep Kirk Franklin’s New Video — “I Smile”

It’s the world premiere of Kirk Franklin’s new music video, for his hit single “I Smile”!

I love the video. It’s not necessarily some big-budget video with special effects and what not… I think I love it cuz it’s just as simple as the song.

Another thing I love is that it “stars” your average PEOPLE. Sure, it features guest appearances from Kirk’s wife (Tammy), his singers, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell, CNN’s TJ Holmes, Jill Scott and more, but the folks that made me smile most were the folks I didn’t know, who clearly were encouraged by the message of the tune. Pretty dope.

Check it out–

I'm slightly confused... If I remember rightly there was a video shot for this with comedian John Gray etc. I remember TwitPics surfacing of folks in 80s wigs etc. Apparently it was going to be very funny? Either that video was scrapped or I am very mistaken...? Anyone know?

Can someone explain to me why it looks like the men in the video have pink lips or could be wearing pink lip gloss.

This is a shame. Kirk is the man a music genius but something is in the tea and it's not sweet. The hip hop and secular music industry make it their business to send subliminal messages and something "right in our face" messages and I believe one of their goals is to make black men look as girly and girlish as possible until they can no longer get away with it. I've never seen so many male gospel artist with earrings, sexy promo photos that are close to seductive and alluring. God aint nowhere in or near this mess. It's a shame and it needs to stop!. And I hope the false prophecy has scared people enough to start living right because the end of the world is going to come one day and no one will be able to stop it. Dee
