[Update: We're unwilling to keep up with the changes on this one, folks... As of Friday evening, attotneys for Vanessa Long indicated that the divorce is back on.]
[note: the info below is now out-of-date]
Didn’t see this one coming, but I’m super glad it did…
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Vanessa Long has withdrawn her divorce filing against her husband, Bishop Eddie Long, just hours after announcing it had been done.
Her words:
“Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long. I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage.”
She cited “years of attacks in the media” as the cause for her initial decision to file.
Back to your regularly scheduled weekends…

I hope that this divorce process is speedy. I encourage everyone to pray for the Long family. James 5:16 "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." (ESV BIBLE)
Bible verses for wisdom in this case: 2ND Corinthians 1:3-5 (ESV BIBLE) "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too."
Bible verses for wisdom in this case, part 2: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted." (ESV BIBLE)
Bible verses for wisdom in this case, part 3: Proverbs 16:1-3 "The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established." (ESV BIBLE) The "second part" comes from Hebrews 12:1-3 (ESV BIBLE)
