Check out the latest single from JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, titled “After This.” It’s an encouraging praise anthem letting believers know that “there will be glory after this!”
The new single is from the group’s upcoming album, due in 2012, on Light Records.
I’ve just added it to the Pundit Player on the bottom of your screen. Take a listen and let me know what you think!
If you ask me, Calvin Nowell doesn’t release music NEARLY as often as I wanna hear it from him, but when he does… wow.
An incredibly gifted vocalist and worship leader, Calvin Nowell is also an awesome songwriter (you may know one of his hits, “Unrestrained,” which was recorded by Myron Butler & Levi on their Stronger album in 2006). Plus, he’s QUITE an artist manager, guiding the careers of Gungor (you MUST know them) and B. Reith (you MUST know him, too– new album in stores November 1st).
Anyway, Calvin’s back with a new single that is so powerful, titled “Alright.” From his lead vocal to the background arrangements, layered over the building band… it’s GOOD.
And it’s available for download on iTunes now. Before you buy it, though, you can listen to it streaming on the Pundit Player at the bottom of this screen. Let me know what you think!
Folks, I got my hands on the newest single from Brian Courtney Wilson, fresh from the lab!
It’s a new tune called “So Proud” and it features Wilson’s soulful crooning voice… it’s just good, uplifting music.
But you don’t have to take my word for it– I’ve just added it to the Pundit Player on the bottom of your screen. Take a listen and lemme know what you think.
“So Proud” is from Brian Courtney Wilson’s upcoming album, expected sometime in early 2012. More details as I get ‘em!
Don’t dare think that Deon Kipping is a newcomer to the industry. With indie releases under his belt, and having written such acclaimed hits as “Praise Him In Advance” (Marvin Sapp) and “Incredible God” (JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise), Deon is no novice.
He recently signed his first major label deal with Verity, so you’ll be hearing much more from him, starting with his new single, ”I Don’t Look Like (What I’ve Been Through),” which hits iTunes on November 1, 2011!
He will also be one of the featured artists on Kirk Franklin’sFearless Tour this fall.
Cuz I love ya, and I love Deon’s music, you can listen to it right here, right now, on the Pundit Player!

It’s a pretty well-known fact that Jason Nelson is just about one of my favorite male vocalists in gospel music today.
His tone is classic. His delivery is always intricate, but simple and straightforward. He’s an excellent songwriter and a compelling worshipper. He’s just great.
He was recently signed to Verity Gospel Music Group and will release his first single, “Shifting The Atmosphere” to iTunes on November 1st.
But guess who can listen to it right here, right now?
I’ve just added it to the Pundit Player on the bottom of your screen! It’s a great worship track full of passion and a great vocal performance.
Take a listen and let me know what you think!
And don’t forget, Jason Nelson will be joining Kirk Franklin on the Fearless Tour this Fall. Read our earlier post to get more info on it!
Powerhouse vocalist Ann Nesby is back in the music lab, working on her 7th studio album, to be titled Annthology and released in 2012.
She recently shared her first single from the project, “Alright.” It sounds like classic Ann Nesby from Sounds of Blackness days, which is always a good thing!
Remember how I told you that the new Deluxe Edition of VaShawn Mitchell’s hit album, Triumphant, would feature two bonus tracks?
Well, I’m streaming one of them– “My Worship Is For Real”– on the Pundit Player NOW! It really is a beautiful testimony about how awesome God has been and, because of that, how authentic our adoration of him should be.
Check out the black bar on the bottom of your screen and take a listen to it!
And make sure you grab the CD + DVD set, available everywhere October 11th.
For about 5 days, the only music I’ve listened to is advance tracks of The Journey, the upcoming album from the legendary Andraé Crouch. It instantly became one of my favorite albums of the year– pure genius musicality, incredible guest vocalists…
ONE of the incredible tunes on this project is the single, “Let The Church Say Amen,” which features none other than Marvin Winans on lead vocals. It’s awesome.
And, cuz I love you guys so much, I’m adding it to the Pundit Player!
The full album hits stores at the end of this month, on September 27th.
In the meantime, click the bar at the bottom of your screen to listen and lemme know what you think!
Kierra Sheard is back with her newest single– “You Are”– from her upcoming album, Free (in stores October 18)!
“You Are” is a high-energy praise & worship track with progressive instrumentation and production. In short: it’s reminiscent of your average Sunday morning praise ditty, but it goes much MUCH harder!
I’ve personally always been perfectly content with Kierra’s urban gospel style, but I can’t deny that she’s so gifted that she doesn’t– not even for a minute– seem out of place backed by her vibrant BRL Choir on this churchy tune. Her vocal performance is strong and confident.
For your listening pleasure (and to entice you to call your local radio stations to request it NOW), I’ve added it to the Pundit Player on the toolbar below.
Judith Christie McAllister is back with a new project, Sound the Trumpet, due on August 30th on Shanachie! The album was recorded live at New York’s Greater Allen Cathedral and promises a new round of praise & worship tunes for the Body of Christ.
In my opinion, Dr. McAllister is one of the leading voices in praise & worship music for the African-American congregation. With popular tunes for worship teams, including “High Praise” (which I bet some of you erroneously call “Halle-halle-hallelujah”), “Like the Dew” and “Lord Prepare Me.” Though she is the President of the International Music Department of the COGIC denomination, she has been instrumental in presenting music for Sunday mornings across denominations for years.
Her lead single is the title track, “Sound the Trumpet.” True to her form, it’s a rousing praise song. This one calls believers to spiritual warfare through praise.
You can check out the live music video for it right here (at first glance, I also saw powerhouse vocalist Melonie Daniels and current Sunday Best contestant Michael Pugh on background vocals)–
And you can also listen to it as it streams on the Pundit Player at the bottom of your screen!
I’ve got the full project, and will take a listen to give you a full review before it hits stores. In the meantime, listen to the single and tell me what you think of it!
