The devil is using Mo’Nique to blur the lines between the Church and the world, thats why she has so many gospel artists on the show. She behaves in a terrible manner and the artists laugh at he antics and dont teach her truth, whats the point?

Marvin Sapp told her “do you” when she asked him how does he deal with people in the Church who use bad language. The word of God does not say that, does it?

Colossians 3:8 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and FILTHY LANGUAGE from your lips.

Trinity 5:7 went of there dressed in clothes that looked painted on talkin about canwe be Christian and Sexy!?!?

Sexy:1 : sexually suggestive or stimulating

    Does the bible say that?

    I timothy 2:9
And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.

The devil is using this woman to promote the homosexual movement in the Church – She said “The Black Church and Black gospel music, is very gay and how God accepts homosexuals”. Well if a man turns to Christ and repents, he is made new in Christ!!

I pray for Kirk Franklin to have boldness tonight to speak truth to her that she may be saved and not blaspheme the things of God.

    DO IT LORD!!!

    Blessings!!

@Paul N…I believe that the Holy Spirit also gives us wisdom, bc to win souls we must be wise, and realistically, the short time that gospel artist are on her show is not the time nor place for us to have an ‘alter call’, I believe that if your prayer every day is to be given the ‘right’ opportunities to minister God will do just that..’Enlarge my territory’….we don’t know what happens backstage either..

  3. Keisha

I understand what Paul N is saying, I’ve been disappointed with some of our gospel artists who have appeared on this show. Jaccor, I hear where you are coming from too and all that is fine & dandy. HOWEVER if you’ve been given a platform to speak about a particular topic and declare the truth according to the Word…why wait until you get backstage and say it? Especially when God has graced you with an opportunity to go in front of MILLIONS? That’s your chance. Nobody is saying to condemn these people to hell or begin laying hands on the audience members & staff. But if you’ve been given the front door to witness, please don’t disappoint our Lord and the body of Christ by fumbling around on answers about “cursing” and “dressing sexy”. C’mon saints.

So far, Yolanda has shown excellency. Tamela Mann was not really put in the same situation yet she ministered in her song selection. I’m very hopeful that God will be glorified in this interview tonight with Kirk Franklin. That’s one thing I’ve always admired about Kirk .

  5. Gayle

@ Keisha, if you are disapointed in the gospel artists who appeared on Mo’nique’s show, where they should appear? In the four walls of the church and be stuck up w/Christian’s only?

The church is worse too because there are a bunch of sinners who are far worse off than Mo’nique. They are no better because pastors cheat on their wives, cheat on their taxes and other issues they are involved in.

I am too don’t approve with Mo’nique’s bad behavior, however, these artists are there for a reason and maybe they will plant a seed on she and her staff. Maybe something they said on the show or even sung made her more humble, even asking questions.

We need to pray for Mo’nique and others who do not share our faith and maybe come to the Lord.

Paul N has a very valid point, I was disappointed when some of the gospel artists appeared on Monique especially Trin tee 57 and alittle of Marvin but I believe Monique’s approach is overwhelming sometimes and they have to be wise on how theyrespond. I have no doubt Kirk will do great.

  7. Keisha

@Gayle, you misunderstood what I was saying. I have absolutely no problem with gospel artists appearing on mainstream television. I think it is an excellent avenue and those who are asked to appear on these programs are very fortunate. What I DO have a problem with are those who compromise under the spotlight & in turn shy away from the gospel. The way we plant seeds is give them the knowledge of Christ with tact and through love. You don’t be weak and just “go along” with the flow when you’ve been asked a certain question about behavior we all know God is clear on.

This site is becoming the GREAT DEBATE!

My god, I used to really appreciate this site, but lately everyone has to debate EVERYTHING. You guys sometimes act as the world does. Y’all gotta get deep on every topic. “My god, that dress ain’t of god”, “Lord, them glasses ain’t lifting him up”, and then pull scriptures and get it all wrong, JESUS. I don’t see none of you guys doing what none of these guys are doing.

Anyway, saw the ep, though Kirk was funny and was very deep when Mo’ Nique was questioning him and spirituality and religion, he gave a great answer. Also, I think it’s a great thing he doing for Haiti. God will bless him for what’s he doing for them.

    God bless

  9. Gayle

@ Keisha, you don’t hate or shun people neither. You give them the gospel because you care about them and their souls. People cannot force people to accept the gospel. There will be consequences and it is not our job to “save” them, but it is God’s job through the holy spirit to convert people. We can talk to people all we want, but we cannot play holy spirit to folk because people has choices.

I think Christian people should stop complaining and be in prayer like I said before for Mo’nique and maybe she would be converted. Steve Harvey has already after people planted seeds when he hosted COG.

Maybe Mo is searching like anyone else about the truth and that is why gospel artists are showing her the truth by their songs and their actions.

And btw, about the clothes issue, God looks at the heart, not because of a piece of clothing.

man o man, here we go again!!! i agree with NY b/c this site can get a bit out of hand (and i am minimizing that fact) with the quarrels. can we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down (remember that these artists/ministers are part of the body and need our prayers so that God can hold them up so they won’t fall)? i’m not saying that we should accept any and everything that ppl do, but i don’t think that tearing ppl down is the answer…

  11. EJ

@All– A new house rule is in place that speaks to these quarrelsome debates that seem to instantly pop up and continue forever. In short– it all ends now.

You can check it at http://www.gospelpundit.com/house-rules/ so you won’t feel like I didn’t tell you.

There have already been casualties and, I expect, more shall come. Pray NOT to be in the number.

And, thanks for visiting the site… keep comin’. I hope you enjoy! :-)

  12. Novella

I watched the show and thought Kirk was excellent. Kirk is the real deal. I love Kirk and I am so proud of him. He is my my Brotha!
Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways, and the Lord is doing something in Monique; potty mouth and all…LOL!

  13. Miko

I don’t usually comment, but I felt the need to do so on this topic. First off, no matter what I personally think of Mo’Nique or her show, she’s giving Gospel artists opportunities. Period.

As for what they do with their allotted time, they need to lift up the name of Jesus. And contrary to popular belief, preaching doesn’t always do it. Sometimes people need to see us JUST BEING REAL.

And just in case you were wondering, I’m a HUGE Kirk fan. I’ve loved him since he was with DFW Mass. Even though I haven’t seen his appearance yet — thank God for YouTube and sites like this — I’m sure he repped for the kingdom in his own way. And if he didn’t, that’s between him and God.

  14. Tam Tam

Wow… once again I say it really doesn’t take much to please (us) gospel music enthusiasts. Many comments are congratulating Mo for having “gospel” artists on the show, giving them a chance. Well, how much of a chance is it really? She would not have them on the show if it did not benefit her/her show. Marvin Sapp and his song “Never Would Have Made It” has made history. It is probably the ultimate crossover genre song so it makes perfect sense for Mo to have him on her show. It’s called MATCHING DEMOGRAPHICS/ADVERTISING DOLLARS. Same with Kirk. He’s also had many of his songs cross over and the fact that he wrote a song for in support of Haiti (an international news story). So of course it makes perfect sense for Mo to have him on her show. The show is crude. She’s loud and uncouth…and yet I watch the recaps online, mainly because her show books good guests (read: Black folk) (both within and beyond gospel) who would RARELY get visibility on mainstream talk show TV. So I get what everybody’s saying and that’s nice and all but at the same time, we shouldn’t be pleased with just anything. It has to be more than “any way you bless me I’ll be satisfied”….

  15. Gayle

EJ, thank you for reminding us that we need to have christ like behavior on this site and be a good witness toward others.

Miko, I agree with you my friend. When the Lord opens doors and someone like Mo is open to the gospel, there is another opportunity to share Christ’s love with her.

Z, thank you for reminding us that we as Christians need not to tear each other down, even gospel artists. They are part of the body of Christ and they do need our encouragement and our love.

  16. EJ

@All– sorry for that person’s use of profanity. I’ve deleted the comment.

Folks finna make me close up shop and move to some remote village to feed orphans.

    Make me sick… LOL

  17. Michael Jenkins

I will be watching that just to see what he would say.

  18. Niki

I am commenting concerning Kirk Franklin’s appearance on the Monique show the other night. I stopped watching her after that night because she cursed until the cows came home. She cursed more when he was on her show than any other usual night. She was really awful in her behavior. She cursed much more extreme than she normally did, I mean they were bleeping all throughout the night and you could tell how his demeanor changed as the night went on. Yeah you could say she is lost this, that and the other and true it is her show but when she accepted her award at the recent Golden Globe award she respected herself and carried herself in a different manner around the “Hollywood” crowd if you know what I mean than she did a man of God……

  19. browngirl

Monique is crazy. She cussess for nothin really. I wonder if she is like this in her home. I kinda think its to get her ratings up but if u really analyze the show, she is not a great talk show host. I use to listen her radio program here in DC and she wasnt like this at all but she did say ‘baby one million times.
