In The News: GMC Choir Competition

Wanted to give you folks a heads-up on a great choir competition called Most Powerful Voices, sponsored by Gospel Music Channel along with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.

It’s an online choir contest… choirs enter, fans vote, folks win.  It’s that simple!

Choirs will be competing for a feature on GMC, $5,000 in musical equipment from Roland, professional coaching from Myron Butler, and the chance to perform at the Power Awards ceremony in New York City on May 7, 2010.

Choirs can enter from now until March 9, 2010.

In The News: Kirk Franklin Gets JET Cover

kirk_jetcoverKirk Franklin will be featured on the cover of the upcoming issue of JET magazine, which should hit newstands on March 30th.  It should definitely be worth reading, as he’ll be chatting about the power of gospel music in these tough times, the new season of Sunday Best, and his recent partnership with the American Heart Association.

In connection with that partnership, he’s doing a quick tour, Fight Of Our Life Health Tour, in several cities for which he’s auditioning people to be the opening act!  Click here for more details on how to audition.

As an aside, anybody got one of those families that subscribes to JET and fans ‘em out on the living room coffee table?  Or is that just MY grandmama’s house?
