What do you guys think of the nominees???

In Stores: Lecrae’s REHAB

Just a quick heads-up that you’ll probably wanna check out Rehab, the new project from Lecrae, which hits stores today.  The album features guest spots from Trip Lee, Sho Baraka, Sonny Sandoval and Anthony Evans, and can be purchased by clicking right here.

Lecrae has also launched an accompanying site for Rehab, demonstrating that the release is about more than just the music– it’s a movement.  Using the catchphrase “Enter Rehab” and “Check In,” Lecrae declares that “we need restoration, healing, and rehabilitation back to that original state of unity with God.  Jesus is our rehabilitation.  The Christian life is an entrance into rehab.”  It’s a dope site, too– check it out at http://www.therehabsquad.com.

I have a strong feeling that it will debut at very high on the gospel charts next week (possibly even at #1). Just a hunch because he tends to chart VERY high– and he’s probably one of the most popular gospel hip-hop artists, even beyond the hip-hop community.

Anyone planning to get it? Anybody already GOT it?

Lemme know!

The Charts: Karen Clark Sheard Debuts At #3, VCC At #4

All In One, the fifth solo project from legendary vocalist Karen Clark Sheard has debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart.  This is a great return to the marketplace for her, on her newly formed label Karew Records.  Congrats, KCS!

Also, Smokie Norful’s Victory Cathedral Choir has hit #4 with their debut recording!  That’s awesome.

The top 10 run-down looks a lil’ something like this…

#2 | WOW Gospel 2010
#3 | Karen Clark Sheard - All In One
#4 | Victory Cathedral Choir - Smokie Norful Presents: VCC

#6 | Fred HammondLove Unstoppable
#7 | Tamela Mann - The Master Plan
#8 | James Fortune & FIYA - Encore
#9 | Hezekiah Walker & LFCSouled Out
#10 | Sho Baraka - Lions & Liars

How many of you have YET to purchase Karen Clark Sheard’s new project?  What about the Victory Cathedral Choir’s album?

Both are great… definitely encourage you to check ‘em out.

The Charts: Sho Baraka Debuts At #3, Myron Butler & Levi At #6

MAJOR congrats to gospel hip-hop artist Sho Baraka, whose new album, Lions & Liars, has debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart!

I want you guys to understand how great of an accomplishment that is– gospel hip-hop artists don’t always get much coverage from the more “mainstream” gospel media, so to land at the top of the charts, through other means is a big feat.  Great job!

Also, Myron Butler & Levi’s latest project, Revealed… Live In Dallas, has debuted at #6 on the chart.  Kudos to you all, too!

The full breakdown is as follows:

#1 | Marvin SappHere I Am
#2 | WOW Gospel 2010
#3 | Sho BarakaLions & Liars
#4 | BeBe & CeCe WinansStill
#5 | James Fortune & FIYAEncore
#6 | Myron Butler & LeviRevealed… Live In Dallas
#7 | Fred HammondLove Unstoppable
#8 | Hezekiah Walker & LFCSouled Out
#9 | Brian Courtney WilsonJust Love
#10 | Tamela MannThe Master Plan

Mary Mary’s The Sound has dropped out of the top 10, perhaps for the first time since its 2008 release, but lands just at #11.  It’ll be back. LOL

Who’s got Sho Baraka’s project?  What do you think of the charts?

Video Pick: Lecrae – "Don't Waste Your Life"

Nothin’ like a QUALITY video in the Gospel/Christian music industry!

Lecrae’s video for his hit single, “Don’t Waste Your Life,” has a great storyline, is well-produced and well-executed. Plus, the song is good, which always helps.

What do you think???

By the way, has anyone attended the “Don’t Waste Your Life” Tour featuring Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Sho Baraka and Flame??? Visit http://www.reachrecords.com/dwyl/.
