Trip Lee Gives Away “Robot” Single, Preps For 4th Album Release

Hip-hop artist Trip Lee is preparing for the release of his fourth project, titled The Good Life, to be released on April 10, 2012 on Reach Records.

In the meantime, he’s offering a FREE DOWNLOAD of his new single, “Robot,” if you click right here.

My two cents– Trip Lee, like his labelmates Lecrae and Tedashii, just kinda doesn’t miss in music. He’s one of the most respected rap artists in the game, plus he’s a humble dude who loves the Lord and loves his wife. Support him!

After a hiatus and period of restoration, hip-hop artist The Ambassador returns to the gospel marketplace with Stop the Funeral to solid sales and a #6 debut on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart.  Congrats!

Trin-i-tee 5:7′s latest project falls from #3 to #7 this week and Times of Refreshing, by Pastor James R. Adams jumps from #17 to #4.

Earnest Pugh Remains #1 At Billboard + Reach Records Artists Rising

Earnest Pugh remains at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart for a second consecutive week. His project, Earnestly Yours, debuted on top last week.

Kirk Franklin holds fast at #2, with Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Mary Mary following at #3 and #4, respectively.

Also, Tedashii and Lecrae, both chart-topping artists on Reach Records increase in position this week, jumping from #8 and #9 to #6 and #7, respectively.

Aside from that, no one entered or left the Top 10 this week… just kinda changed positions.

It will be interesting to see how long Black Smoke and the fans can keep Earnest Pugh on top of the charts!

The next releases to make a splash on the charts will likely come from The Ambassador (in stores as of this past Tuesday) and Richard Smallwood (in stores July 17).

As I predicted last week, the label was able to pull off some impressive numbers for Earnest Pugh’s new album.

Norman Hutchins also debuted at #11 with his new release, If You Didn’t Know, Now You Know.  And LaShun Pace’s Reborn lands at #31 its first week out.

Mary Mary Returns To #2, Martha Munizzi Re-enters Top 10 At Billboard

Mary Mary regains some footing this week on Billboard’s Gospel Albums chart, landing at #2, behind Kirk Franklin at #1. Trin-i-tee 5:7 trails the Marys directly at #3.  Also, Martha Munizzi re-enters the top 10 with her latest project, Make It Loud.

Next week should yield some VERY interesting chart entries, especially with this week’s releases.

There’s LaShun Pace and Norman Hutchins, but I think I’m most interested in seeing where Earnest Pugh lands… he always fares quite well on the charts, both at radio and sales, and I’m curious to see what he and his team at BlackSmoke are able to pull off.

The Charts: Yolanda Adams, Lecrae and WOW Gospel Climb Charts

Not much movement at Billboard this week, except that Yolanda Adams’ Becoming climbs from #7 to #5, Lecrae’s history-making Rehab jumps from #13 to #8, and WOW Gospel 2011 makes sales gains, bringing them to #4 from #5.

Kirk Franklin Returns to #1 Spot at Billboard

This week, Kirk Franklin’s Hello Fear, returns to Billboard’s #1 position after being moved out of it last week by Trin-i-tee 5:7′s Angel & Chanelle, the first time Franklin’s album was not #1 since its March release.

T57′s release doesn’t go far, though, hanging in at #2, followed by Mary Mary’s Something Big at #3.  Bishop Jakes’ Sacred Love Songs 2 project and WOW Gospel 2011 bring up the rear at #4 and #5, respectively.

I think Earnest Pugh’s upcoming release, Earnestly Yours, stands to make a fairly significant impact when it is released on June 28. It should land in the top 10, maybe even the top 5 if pre-sales are strong…

What albums are you most looking forward to???

Trin-i-tee 5:7 Dominate Charts With ‘Angel & Chanelle’ Debut

Trin-i-tee 5:7′s new project, titled Angel & Chanelle, has debuted at #1 on both the Billboard Gospel Albums and Christian Albums charts. Kirk Franklin’s Hello Fear lands at #2, followed by Tedashii’s Blacklight and Mary Mary’s Something Big at #3 and #4, respectively.

TD Jakes’ Sacred Love Songs Pt. 2 also debuts high this week, rounding out the top spots at #5.

Video Pick: Lecrae – "Don't Waste Your Life"

Nothin’ like a QUALITY video in the Gospel/Christian music industry!

Lecrae’s video for his hit single, “Don’t Waste Your Life,” has a great storyline, is well-produced and well-executed. Plus, the song is good, which always helps.

What do you think???

By the way, has anyone attended the “Don’t Waste Your Life” Tour featuring Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Sho Baraka and Flame??? Visit http://www.reachrecords.com/dwyl/.

Video Pick: Trip Lee feat. Tedashii – "Real Vision"

I like the song, love the video…

This video was featured on BET’s 106 & Park a few weeks ago, which I think is pretty phenomenal.  I like the concept and the execution.

From his recent album, 20/20, here’s Trip Lee with “Real Vision,” featuring Tedashii.

Lemme know what you think!
