Word has it that Israel Houghton will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this coming WEDNESDAY, September 8th at 10:35pm CST, apparently sitting in with Rickey Minor (one of my faaaaves) and the Tonight Show band.
I reckon he’ll be playin’ a lil’ GUITar. 
Make sure you tune in (or, if you’re like me and this is waaay past your bedtime, set your DVR).
Word has it that Brian Courtney Wilson will be releasing a deluxe CD/DVD package of his debut release, Just Love, on October 5, 2010.
As you know, Brian has remained high on Billboard’s sales charts since the album’s release in 2009. I’m eager to see what the DVD would include.

Word has it that the new season of Bobby Jones Gospel on BET will debut on October 3, 2010.
The show wrapped its tapings last week, with appearances by a little bit of EVERYONE in the industry. I hear some great performances went down.

Word has it that powerhouse vocalist Beverly Crawford is set to release her new project, Live from Los Angeles – Vol. 2, on September 14, 2010.
The single from the project is titled “It’s About Time For A Miracle” and you already KNOW she’s gonna demolish the vocals.
I think I got my advance copy in the mail yesterday– I’ll listen and let you guys know how it is. I just looove her ability to build a song, then tear the vamp to shreds.

Word has it that Kierra Sheard is getting married, with news of her engagement spreading across the web on Saturday evening. The blessed beau is Pastor Welton T. Smith IV, of Detroit, MI.
Even cousin J Moss sent a congratulatory message, sending a photo of her ring via Twitter (niiiiice!).

Word has it that Pastor Marvin Sapp is in search of an organist to play at his church, Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, in Grand Rapids, MI.
According to a Facebook post from Sapp, the church is looking for an organist– male or female– that is saved and skillful on the organ. You’ve gotta be able to play in every key.

Remember on Tuesday, when I told you big news was coming about the Dove Awards? Well, it came…
Word has it that the GMA’s Dove Awards will take place in Atlanta, GA in 2011, leaving its home of Nashville for the first time in the award program’s history. The event will take place at the Fox Theater on April 20, 2011.
In its press release, the GMA mentioned that Atlanta is home to many of the industry’s biggest names– and it included SEVERAL gospel artists, like Byron Cage, Canton Jones… even Dottie Peoples. And Bishop Paul Morton was quoted in the press release.
I hear inclusion and diversity comin’ on the horizon.
Now, the question is– will the gospel community RECIPROCATE it? The GMA has, historically, had extremely low membership among the “black gospel” community. They’re clearly putting a good foot forward, I think… what will our response be? Will we see their effort and raise ‘em a few, or will we say “y’all never include us”? I dunno…
