Word Has It: The “Time To Laugh” Isn’t Until 2010

Remember how, back in February, I told you that BET was doing a clean/Christian version of its hit stand-up comedy show, Comic View, titled A Time To Laugh?

Word has it that the series won’t even premiere on BET until January of 2010! As you probably recall, Vickie Winans is slated to host the new comedy series, and has already begun taping some of the 30 episodes that are slated.

That’s a whole lot of preparation… kinda makes me wish BET had put that much thought and energy into 106 & Gospel before they cancelled it.

I feel you on this one EJ. Sounds like a good/clean concept, but I would have loved for 106 & Gospel to stay on and be moved to a time when I am out of church like 106 and Park is on after school. And all of the attention it got when we learned they were going to cancel it should have meant something. I know money is the key here, but can the young people (and young at heart) have something else? I think they would have seen higher ratings which equals money if the time slot was moved. I hope this new show will be good and if it is I hope it stays. BET is a trip showing all those same movies over and over again.

I am looking forward to “A Time to Laugh”. I imagine it will provide good Godly entertainment for us “Christian folk”.
As for 106 and Gospel… I never got a chance to see it. I agree with ebonisun… BET didn’t give it a chance. Wonder if I’ll be able to find it on Hulu…

I cant wait till “A Time To Laugh” airs….oH My gOOD ness…There is this one comedian name Cizzle C ” The Prince Of Clean Comedy” is one the first episode is sooo hillarious…World get ready for Cizzle C.

BET is the pits…106 & Gospel could have been a great concept if they had better hosts, better timing, and really pushed it. Vickie Winans is funny, but she tells the same jokes everywhere she goes. I’m sure she’ll get an open monologue. She is definitely the fiya when it comes to singing.
